|Nathan Vaughan Marks||RE: Edith Jay|
I found her death in Oregon after my first message. I now have Donald's obituary showing he was cremated. She may have been cremated as well.

It appears Edith actually died in Lane County, Oregon. The main newspaper there is the Eugene Guard and I have been combing the issues from may 31, 1992 onward with no luck. Same with the Lansing Paper and the Tucson and Phoenix papers for good measure. I did find a Tucson home address for her, but that is all.

I made the note regarding Edith on George's memorial as you requested. Like you, I have sought Edith's place of burial in vane. As she worked at MSU, I think seeking an obituary in the East Lansing paper would theoretically yield her place of burial. I am going to do some digging again.
Her SSDI entry does indicate she was died in or at least had a residence in Arizona when she died in 1992.

Thank you for submitting the memorial for my cousin David Ross. The last time I met him he was 18 years old, when my grandmother Zelphia Leverich took me to meet her brother Lewis W Ross, JR and his wife. I never saw any of them again.
Please add his middle initial to his memorial. I believe the obit gave it as an A.
Thank you very much.

Luci, thank you so much for transferring management, and so quickly. I look forward to adding to my stepmom's memorial. Enjoy your holiday season <3

You are very welcome.

Hi Renee, I responded to your e-mail last week as well :) I descend from Elmer Elbridge Jay, a brother of your George E. Jay.
You will see Ross listed as David's son in the 1900 Census of Davis County, Iowa. Ross was the son of David's third and final wife, Mary Abigail Parkins. David married her 6 Dec 1883 in Davis County, Iowa. That marriage record is our primary source for David's mother's maiden name being BOWERS.
Let me know if I can help with your Jay research.
|Nathan Vaughan Marks||RE: Ross Fletcher Jay|
Hi Luci, Not sure what you're seeing, but he's listed correctly as a child of David and sibling of William, Daniel, and the other children of David. David's daughter Mary is the only one of his children I have not located despite exhaustive searching. I'm sorry I haven't responded to your e-mail; I get rather a lot of them these days and then I accidentally neglect some. My apologies for that. If there's any information I can help you with locating, let me know.

I have transferred them to you. There are a few other Jays that I can transfer if you want, let me know at your convenience.
Take care and have a good weekend!
