|I am a teacher with a strong interest in genealogy and in preserving the record of someone's time on earth. I have just started this path of writing up memorials in honor and memory of people. I enjoy the outdoors, my time with my family and the pleasure of a good book. I also have a passion for cooking. I have particular interest in the Fleener, Gordon, Hager, Raines and Claflin families. I will be happy to try to locate graves in Clayton County, Fayette County and Black Hawk County Iowa. I also travel frequently to Ottertail and Wadena Counties in Minnesota and will try to do the same thing when there if someone wants me to. I hope to make a positive contribution to this site and I enjoy very much being a part of it. Thanks. Ted|

|Marie Baumgartner||RE: Edward Williams|
Yes, Ted, it is Edward Williams buried at Meriden, Iowa that I am interested in as well as his mother, Mary. Without looking, I'm not sure of her husband's first name. Further info appreciated. Thank you.
I am trying to find out if there was a Belle or Anna Belle or Annabel Raines (or Raynes) in the Edgewood area around 1880. There is a mystery surrounding a woman who married my great grandfather's brother, Frederick Ullman. One investigator says her name was Annabel Hatch, another says Belle Raynes, and another says Anna B. Klemer. I am leaning toward Raynes and Hatch based on some details, but can't find anything on a Raynes family. Do you think your Raines might be connected?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Did I ever answer your message? I don't remember if I did or not. If not, shame on me.
I would love to see that (Vogal)cemetery some day but Iowa is a long way from Oregon. Thank you for finding the gravemarkers. Are you doing genealogy on the family? If so, my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. KC
Ted: I see that you claimed LeNora "Nora" Crane SHAFFER in the Illyria, Wadena, Fayette Co., Iowa Cemetery.
Since I posted this I found on Ancestry.com that she was married to Leo PAGE. I don't know if he was her first or second husband.
So, don't spend a lot of time on this, as she may not be in the cemetery.
Thank you for your help in advance.

|Karen Schneider Childs||wrong gravemarker|
I think there is a little mix up with the gravemarkers and the names here. The photo is of James Ewing gravemarker not Cecile Baumgartner. Hope this can be fixed, thank you, Karen Childs
Wishing you and your family a blessed Easter.
