Hello fellow find-a-gravers,|
Pet Peeve: people who claim that obituaries are copyrighted. By whom, I wonder. The family who actually writes it? The funeral home who merely types it out in a standard format? All the different newspapers and websites that publish it word for word, or shortened to fit available space? If you think you understand this topic, please read this article. It will either be very gratifying that you've been right all along, or you will decide not to believe it, but you should read it all the same, imo, especially if you are going to pounce on other people for posting obits on findagrave memorials. http://www.legalgenealogist.com/2012/09/12/copyright-and-the-obit/?fref=gc&dti=1692528431015659
I have recently changed my position on transfers, and will be adhering, for the most part, to f.a.g. transfer guidelines.
For kin outside of f.a.g. transfer guidelines, I encourage use of Virtual cemeteries which are great for collecting memorials into logical groups like surnames, high school classmates, people from your home town, etc. However, if I have a memorial for a person who was important to you, even outside the guidelines, please don't hesitate to ask.
Of course, inside f.a.g. guidelines, I will transfer without question.
It makes me a little sad to find a memorial I transferred that is still sitting months later exactly as I created it. Even sadder when I find that it has since been taken over by findagrave and there is no way to get them back.
To request a transfer, please use the official "suggest a correction" mechanism, not emails or messages here.
And one last change for now... I no longer entertain requests for mass transfers. This is not "ABOUT NUMBERS". It is because I want every memorial to be actively managed, not just warehoused.
Thanks for understanding.
This is the day the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it! (and not spend the whole day working on findagrave! LOL )

|Shannon B||Albert Malody @Mt Calvary|
I sent you an date edit correction for Albert Ambrose Malody at Mt. Calvary. I just wanted to explain the reasoning.
Albert Malody Sr is buried at Mt Calvary and not his son, Albert Jr, who is buried at Mt Muncie. I came across the sons headstone while fulfilling a photo request.
I am just guessing that the dates you have for the Albert at Mt Calvary are from the County Burial Index. I use this database almost regularly to verify burial locations and have found that it has a good many errors. Considering both Alberts have the same middle name I believe this was a transcription error.
I hope I didn't confuse you. Basically, going off of the County Burial Index, Albert Malody who died in 1982 is not buried at Mt Calvary but at Mt Muncie(your memorial I sent a date edit on). Albert Malody who died between 1931-1936 is buried at Mt Calvary and not Mt Muncie. This was a transcription error.

You & I have duplicate information about the above person in the Morris cemetery, Caldwell county, Missouri. I would be glad to transfer to you, if you are willing to combine the information.
Her husband was James GREEN Allen.
I obtain my information from a book written by a Allen relaative: Irma Chance McLuskie.

You could email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yes, I did read that, but they were just assuming, naturally, that he was buried with his wife. However, Hattie is definitely his sister, and I have seen this on other occasions, adult siblings buried together.

|NameGatherer||RE: Photo question|
You are probably right. The only photo editing I do is to try to darken the letters a bit. There is moss or something on it now. I probably just misread it. I think the earlier picture is right, and it must be Clark E. Sorry about that. Thanks for catching it.
Thanks for the help! I appreciate the reply!

Hi Deb, I am trying to help a friend get into the DAR but we can't use the information you posted for Merrimon Hightower's birth or death unless we can get copies of the actual paperwork documentation. Do you have copies or would you please tell us where you obtained the information so we can get copies. Thanks. Kay (F-A-G contributor 47285667)

Thank you so much for the transfers of my family. I great appreciate it! And Thank you for the work you do to help others on here.
|Pat Shaw||RE: Transfers of several surnames|
Thank you Deb will be patient I know is time consuming work and thanks for all you have done. I see your name everywhere and have for many years. Most recently seen where some that are close to me and I care about have been given to others. It is impossible for me to know which ones you have as I have over 44 thousand in my tree and on even distant relatives I try to sync all with Find A Grave sooo is a lot of work, but I have no way of knowing how to figure out what you have and what I would love to have from you!! Would have to (I think for me) look up everyone individually and find out 'stuff'. Was easier for me to name surnames and mostly in the Clay and Buchanan MO areas tho I have seen you ALL over the place.
Thank you will keep hoping.
