I have been working on my genealogy for 26 years and enjoy going to cemeteries. So many people have helped me through the years, this is my way of giving back and helping someone else with their genealogy.|

|Judy Miller||Sad story|
I just read the story about the Stoner family. It's so sad it brings tears to my eyes.
Did you understand the link in the last message I sent you? It's for a recent book published about the last living CW veteran by state and territory.
I found another photo of a member of Uncle Jack's family. His granddaughter, Carmie Whetstone Gould, daughter of Lillie (Marilla) Clingaman and Daniel Whetstone.

Here is the most recent info: https://books.google.com/books?id=GbPuCwAAQBAJ&pg=PA40&lpg=PA40&dq=Daniel+Clingaman,+Wauseon,+Ohio&source=bl&ots=Pr41PakEWd&sig=kTwJvXjvnRIXOCHQMBOvJ_5sPH8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjY_b-_m4zNAhUCGT4KHW9ZCXIQ6AEIPTAF#v=onepage&q=Daniel%20Clingaman%2C%20Wauseon%2C%20Ohio&f=false
Grandpa and Uncle Jack (aka Uncle Hunka) joined the war much later. Grandpa turned 18 in Sep. 1864. Uncle Jack had been recently widowed so he knew he might be called. The joined the 195th, Co. D but didn't see much action. They were enlisted in March, 1865 and mustered out in Dec, 1865.
They were in the Shenandoah Valley.
Yes, I do belong to OGS. Very interesting. I don't know if they did anything on Grandpa or not.

How are you related? The family is far bigger than I ever imagined.
