Bio

I'm originally from Rock Hill, SC, but currently live in Burlington, NC. My ancestral lines are almost entirely southern based and the majority of them trace back to the pre-Revolutionary War period. Areas they lived in include: Brunswick Co, VA and surrounding counties; York/Chester/Fairfield Co, SC area, Halifax, Chatham, Northampton, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Rowan counties in NC (and surrounding counties); and, Edgefield Co, SC.

*******************************************
Note that as of the end of 2019 I will no longer include living names in bios that are sent to me to be added to memorials. There have been issues and I think it's even caused my living father's name to start appearing in databases. If you send me an obit or the link to one I will remove living names if possible or simply add a link to the obit. I may stop adding them altogether if they're recent.
*******************************************

Please stop using chalk and shaving cream to get good photos! If you want to know how I take my photographs without damaging or defacing our ancestor's markers send me a message!

Note that I never use the "died in his/her xx year" on markers to calculate year of birth. There's no way to know if they've had their birthday or not unless there's a family bible that lists it. Better to be inaccurate and say "unknown" than to start making assumptions. It's ok for the date to say unknown. There's nothing stopping you from listing whatever year of birth you want in your own records. Just like nature abhors a vacuum beginner genealogists abhor a missing date, but with effort you can get past those feelings.
