Bio and Links
Bio Photo Because of fires, floods and loss, I started photographing all the markers in Jackson Co Michigan in Nov 2006. We've discovered the 1927 DAR WPA cemetery transcription project didn't have anyone actually walk any of the county cemeteries. They obtained the information from cemetery records, church records and neighbors. Fortunately for all of us this included records of those graves with no markers. Most of the early cemetery records have perished along with some of the cemeteries. Hopefully, we will be able to provide info for descendants of the early/current residents of Jackson County Michigan. By using census, marriage, death and local history information we try to make our entries as complete as possible. Email with info on your ancestors and we'll add them to any of our records. We'll be happy to help you in your search.

Currently, I'm working on adding maiden names to as many memorials as possible.

As of 22 Aug 2009 Jackson Co FAG volunteers have 66,501 burials recorded, by Jan 2010 72,323 burials and by Jan 2013 101,483 burials. Many of the cemeteries have been completed with pics.

Please request edits, corrections & transfers thru the SAC tab (edit tab on the memorial page) and not here on the home page. Remember to check the new "edit" tab on your own homepage to see the corrections/additions sent to you.

Thanks to all those FAGer's who have trusted me to take care of their memorials and have transferred their memorials over to me while they take a leave from findagrave.

Not sure why my email disappeared from the contact info: water@daenvironmental.com

Anton J Andres - Odd Fellows,Jackson
Thank you all for your efforts to preserve via photographs the existing head stones. Do you know what might happen to the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Jackson if it is sold. What are the laws regulating such?
My great Uncle is buried there and I had no idea when or where he died. THANK YOU!
Are there any records other than MI death Records 1867-1950 available? Does the Cemetery have any that they will share?
A never ending quest - but you have helped a bunch!
Liz

I am researching this Find A Grave # 91063676 . I know she married 2 times. George W Thompson and Simon W Gristwood. Charles J Thompson her son is my great grandfather from Fenwick, Michigan. Ferris Thompson his son, is my maternal grandpa. All buried togather in Clear Lake Cemetary. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Since this line is confusing.. Thanks, Lori

John Crego (Infant)
Hi Deb,

I have a question about the burial of John Crego (Infant) Memorial #19299210. Listed as a son of John & Jenette (Paddock) Crego.

His death birth/death date are listed as Jan. 1844 - Aug. 22nd, 1844.

His mother Memorial #5037799 states that she died in July 24th, 1843.

How could he be born after the death of his mother? Help ?

Denise

Davenport Family, Wright Cemetery, Parma
Hi Deb,
Vern Howe here; you were kind and gracious enough to take some headstone pictures for me at Wright Cemetery in Parma.
I have another request for establishing memorials and pics at Wright for the Davenport family. Looks like there may be five of them (north to south): Thomas, Ben Jr, Ben Sr, his wife (Mary Campbell??), and a child. According to a plot map for Wright, they are buried in Section B, Row 8. The Ben I was looking for was born in New York in 1825. Last known record was the 1870 Census in Parma. Hope to get back there one day and put a face to you and Frank Passic. Thank you so very much for what you do! You unselfish dedication is appreciated beyond words of heartfelt thanks...

Regards,
Vern Howe

21208938 Elsie Foote
Just found a note in the Jackson Daily Citizen from March 10, 1890 saying "The remains of Elsie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Foote, who died in November last, were taken to Adrian today for interment." You have a note about the Woodland cemetery not existing until 1891. I'm wondering if she was moved a couple of times... Just thought I'd share and add something to this mystery.

Biske-Mansfield
Yes, Bertha Biske Mansfield is Wm "Charles" Biske and Bertha M Ziebell-Schmidt/Smith-Biske's
eldest daughter. They were not legally married
until 1891. Another dark family secret discovered.
They just did not talk about those things like
they do now on national TV. Thanks for bringing
it to my attention. I did not have a copy of
their marriage license until recently; and, just
guessed as to when they were actually married.
They were my Great Grandparents on my
mother's side. My mother was Myrtle May Smith.

You had asked to have Jack's memorial, so I have transferred it to your care. I sure you have much more to add then I have been able to.
