I grew up in Clinton S.C. and currently live in Owosso, Mi. I work as a nurse. I love dogs- I have 3 who are my babies. I love to read and enjoy playing piano and flute.Am currently learning to play the violin-at 60 years of age! I love walking through cemetaries and since I found find a grave I spend hours browsing through this. I have found this gives me a chance to visit my parent's graves since i live so far away and can't visit like i should. |
I collect books on ghosts and i am trying to get books of ghosts stories from different states and countries- real stories- not made up ones so if anyone has any books from your area on ghosts email me and i will be glad to pay you and send you my address!
New changes in my life- as of Dec 1,2008 I retired from work!!!!!And I really enyoy it!
Since i started this profile I have retired from work and love it.I lost one of my 3 dogs this past June- myBrittany who was my favorite,I am 63 -well 64 nov 28- now.Have been to South Carolina quite a few times since I have retierd.Still love my ghost stories and got to spend a night in a haunted bed and breakfast in Story Indianna!Did not see a ghost but did hear things and had items moved around during the night!!!
2016- new updates on my last update I had just lost my Brittany- well lost another this past June- one of my Cocker Spaniels, Casey- he was 11 yrs old and broke my heart- also broke his sisters heart really bad- they were raised together- same age but six weeks apart- same father but different mothers- she was grieving so that in August I adopted a four month old puppy from the humane society- a lab/Akita mix- beautiful dog and my Lacey acts like a puppy again! Even tho the new one is twice her size she is the boss! They get along great! I am also enjoying my music- still learning violin and play flute in two groups at the music institute plus private piano lessons- besides that volunteer with Red Cross. I have gone to a number of different states helping with national disasters so I stay busy

Hello Priscella !
I felt I had to respond in view of our shared flowers..My great grandmother was daughter of Ransom Mabury Prince (Eliza Adele). With all the research I've done, my grandmotehr Bessie Martin Bullock was spot on so much of her research, not bad for a mere 3rd or 4th grade education! Am so proud of her tenacious spirit and still cling to her laboriously accurate notes; her family members date to 1802 for her husband (Bullock-Gore) and her own genealogy. Her line from the Princes date back to pre-Revolutionary and Nicholas R Prince, Jr was in the Revolutionary War as confirmed by Payroll stubs in the military and his pension as well (It was many years before these brave men received anything and often died before receiving anything OR their families.
Anyway Priscilla, I too am a retired nurse and spend much of my time doing my ancestry. I am happily married with 2 grown terrific sons and have pushed them to get their dna done for their own posterity.
Thought I would just say hello and hope you are doing well, would love to meet with you sometime, but I live in upstate NY and also year to go to SC! Guess it's my roots calling me. Would love to keep in touch, email is:
I also love ghost stories and the paranormal since I have had some unsettling experiences happen to me (dreams/premonitions, etc) I read everything on the topic as well!

Would you like me too transfer this family to you? Are they your relatives?
|issy issy||Ronald K Isgate|
I see you left a message for Ronald K Isgate. Did you know him? He's my great uncle
I see you left flowers on the pages for my great-grandparents, George and Rena Cunningham, buried at Ware Shoals Cemetery. Are you related to them?
Down to the final 4 rows. Lost the light just before I could get it all finished tonight.
Another 56 memorials that weren't listed added this weekend. I think that makes a total of 167 that were missing from FindaGrave.
Lydia Cemetery is in pretty bad shape. The preacher over at the Presbyterian church took some boy scouts over there a few years ago and cleaned it up some. You can't see it from the road, but if you look at this. https://goo.gl/maps/959NuU9nSkL2
You can see the entrance. The two brick pillars there say Lydia Cemetery.
I recall a story that either Dad or Karen mentioned about someone playing over there and actually falling into a grave back in the day.
When I was there back in April or May, there was a dead dog rotting on the ground and several graves I couldn't get to due to the weed growth.
It's really not horribly difficult. I use the Android app and basically mow rows. I enter the last name, see if the memorial is found. If yes, check for a pic, if not one.. Take pic and verify info. if there is a pic, I quickly look to verify info, and tag GPS is not present. If info is wrong, I pin the memorial to send an edit when I get back home.
If a memorial isn't found. I search DOB and DOD, because at times, there's misspellings.. Like these two. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=28445172 and http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=28445162 When i came across them, they were not there.. but, once I searched DOB/DOD.. I found they had been incorrectly logged as Lyda vs Lydia.
Now, your memorial where we had a dupe.. That's the achilles heel. I didn't check all the names closely enough to see he was there, and when I searched for DOB/DOD, your memorial didn't have a DOB, so.. it got me.
But.. I follow up when I've completed the cemetery, looking at the graves with no photo.. I check for others and do more searching trying to find them.. And I find some dupes i've missed, and occasionally ones I've added. if *I* added the dupe, I move everything over and delete mine. The problems come in when it's two other people.. It's like a numbers game to some.
I'm having a problem with the person managing Granny's grave now. The name is wrong. Her maiden was Curtiss and Hanna shouldn't be listed as it isn't on the marker. They have the middle name listed as Shirley Curtiss and last as Hanna Reece. They keep declining the changes. So.. I'm having to go through channels to take over the memorial
Re - The duplicate.. The marker lists his first name as George.. I deleted mine and sent the updates for GPS and DOB to you. I'll leave it to you to make the call on the name.
My understanding is that they're doing that reunion thing in the next couple of weeks. Actually, next weekend, I guess. Dad isn't making it down for this one, but I think Karen is planning on driving up. Rossie lives in town, so, I presume he'll be there.
I haven't been by Lydia since Granny passed away and the house was sold. Though I did get into the old Lydia Mill Cemetery searching for a grave for someone. I think I may make that one my next little project to get photographed, as it's small and getting towards winter, hopefully will be a little less overgrown.
After that, I'm thinking about getting Forest Lawn in Laurens (and the little satellite one off Torrington Rd in Clinton) and probably Rosemont. I did find Mutt (Robert) and Ruby Dunaway's graves out there.. Mutt actually has a really cool headstone. Memorial 9205934
If you have a cemetery that you'd like me to go through over there, let me know.
I keep pushing off Greenville Memorial Gardens, because that's going to take months to get done.
Sorry.. Forgot to mention who my grandmother was.. Guess that would have helped. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=128778918
Wait a tic.. I just went to correct my grandmother's grave, and you posted you grew up with her children? Fred is my father.
