I am a retired woman who loves doing research. I found out about Findagrave.com because one of my genealogy friends sent me the information that my mother's grave was listed here. I am researching the names Harrell, Randolph, Chisum, George, Robinson, Horn, Bailey, Shirley, Howell, Pilant, and related lines. The last three hundred years or so they have all been in the south, except a few distant lines migrated to Ohio and Indiana. |
If I have made any mistakes or omissions, please use the edit tab with the appropriate information so I can correct them. If you are more closely related than I am to any of the memorials I have created, I'll be happy to transfer them to you upon request.

Thank you for the photos you posted on Henry's memorial. They are great!

If you look at the your list of memorials created recently you will see several in South Carolina. But before you delete them check to see if there are existing memorials for those photos in
Allens Chapel Cemetery
Some of those in SC may just need to be moved to the correct cemetery.
|James Odland||Evelyn Zahradnik|
Thank you for the photo of where Evelyn was buried.
Although, you have added a total of 3 of the same photo. Please correct.
|Linda J. Morris||About Samuel Knight|
The dates on the headstone conflict with the famiy Bible. I just want to make sure that you got it right. Did you actually read it yourself? There was actually two Bibles. One belonged to I believe Daniel Cain Knight his son and one belonged to James Perry Knight. Samuel could have been put into it based on memory and not fact. I do hope to hear from you. I have one Bible and the other is most likely lost to all of us as even thou I know who has it, he will not share but his daughter did not mind posting the tree I sent to her as her own work. Trust is running very low now.

I am the oldest granddaughter of Frank Chisum. I would love to learn more about his family. There are 4 of us grandchildren. Will keep checking this site for more info. We are all in Texas for now.

|Mountain Traveler||RE: Jett's of DeWitt Co., IL|
Thank you for looking. There just does not seem to be much on them in DeWitt County at all. They married into my Byerly's is why I was searching.
|Dave Morris||RE: Harrells in Smyrna Cemetery|
I was glad to do it. I had wanted to walk that cemetery for some time as we live close by, and this gave me the motivation to go do it and see some of the older headstones as well.
|Dave Morris||Charles Vencel Harrell|
The headstone lists the birth year as 1917, not 1911 as is shown in the memorial record.

I was wondering if you could figure out how my Sarah A. Jett might be related to those in DeWitt Co., IL buried in Randolph & Crum Cemeteries. My Sarah A. Jett was born around 1847. She married James F. Hill in DeWitt County in 1863 and is on the 1870 and 1880 census there. I have no idea when or where she died. They had 2 children: Mary B. Hill and Estella Hill who both stayed in IL, one dying in Pontiac and one in Decatur. Did your Jett's come from Tennessee??
