The Cord

We are connected,
My child and I, by
An invisible cord
Not seen by the eye.

It's not like the cord
That connects us 'til birth
This cord can't been seen
By any on Earth.

This cord does it's work
Right from the start.
It binds us together
Attached to my heart.

I know that it's there
Though no one can see
The invisible cord
From my child to me.

The strength of this cord
Is hard to describe.
It can't be destroyed
It can't be denied.

It's stronger than any cord
Man could create
It withstands the test
Can hold any weight.

And though you are gone,
Though you're not here with me,
The cord is still there
But no one can see.

It pulls at my heart
I am bruised...I am sore,
But this cord is my lifeline
As never before.

I am thankful that God
Connects us this way
A mother and child
Death can't take it away!

Angela--Alissa's mom
Good morning!
I do believe that everyone knows everyone in heaven so I'm thinking that Jamie and Alissa are hanging out together there!
Alissa was 13 when she died and a very mature 13 who loved taking care of children younger than her.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know how touched I was by your son's memorial. He is a really cute little boy, and a very special one. I'm sorry for your loss, but as Jamie says, you will be with him again. God Bless You.

Things here are going well for me. I am at NICU in Dallas, Medical City and really enjoying it. I am working days and get to see my family quite frequently... what a concept to see the people you live with! I also get to stay with my son in Irving on the days I work.
Things at home are starting to smooth out. Jeff and Alexis are getting an apartment inthe next couple weeks and that will leave just Hubby and me in the house with the 2 cats. We won't know how to act! We haven't been alone together since we got married, almost 24 years ago. I may have to start cooking and cleaning house again!
Take care and sy Hi to all at Methodist for me. I really miss everyone there.
