Although I have been a fan of findagrave for several years, my purchase of an old funeral coach in 2012 has caused me to step up my research and contributions to this site.
My research confirmed the 1939 Pontiac Superior funeral coach once belonged to the Valorous C. Rector Funeral Home in Markleville, Indiana. The car served hearse and ambulance duties from 1939 until 1965. The funeral home closed shortly after Mr. Rector's death in April, 1966. I have been fortunate to get to know several members of Mr. Rector's family as I continue my research.
I have been entrusted with a copy of the funeral home records from 1935 through 1959. It has since been my mission to make sure all of Mr. Rector's burials are listed on this site, with grave photos, photos of the individual (where possible) and their obituary.
These burials are listed in my Virtual Cemeteries under "Valorous C. Rector Funeral Home", which is a work in progress.
