Bio

Since Las Vegas is a relatively young city, most of the cemeteries in the valley are less than 50 years old. I am currently concentrating my efforts on Palm Valley View Memorial Park, a large, beautiful cemetery that straddles the border of Las Vegas and Henderson.

I believe that the history of any community is comprised of the stories of each and every one of its inhabitants. It is immaterial whether the person was the city's mayor or a dishwasher; every piece of this human mosaic is an integral part of the historical perspective. I am committed to preserving this history by creating entries that include a bio along with the photo of the person's headstone or marker. I hope that my efforts will eventually become a valuable resource for those who are exploring the history of the Las Vegas Valley, as well as for those who are researching their personal family histories.

When creating a memorial entry, I usually start with a photo of the headstone. I then attempt to find obituaries or news stories related to the person's life. The online archives of the local paper only go back to 1991, however, so often I come up empty-handed. Whatever info I can find goes into creating the memorial entry.

I consider my entries to be "works in progress" and welcome any suggestions that you might have that will enhance an entry. However, I appreciate your patience while waiting for me to respond. Due to the high volume of entries that I have created to date, I receive several letters a day suggesting changes or requesting management transfers. I respond as promptly as I am able. After 30 days, if you haven't received a response from me please contact me again - it's possible that your request fell through the cracks somehow.
I work in a cyclical business (the convention industry) and there are times when I am required to work as much as 60 hours a week. I catch up on the SACs I receive once things return to normal at work.

Please hesitate before trying to cultivate a critical or malicious environment here because of a perceived slight. No slight is ever intended.

I do not adhere strictly to Find-A-Grave's transfer criteria. Any reasonable request will be considered. However, please determine whether you really need to manage an entry before you make a transfer request. For example, one does not need to manage every entry of a particular surname; the virtual cemetery feature allows one to keep track of these sorts of entries.

I will not respond to transfer requests posted on this page. Please follow the proper transfer request procedures so that I receive an email containing links to the memorials you would like to manage.

If you are requesting that I add additional information, whenever possible please reference the source from which the info was obtained(Veterans Administration records, obituaries, Social Security Death Index, census records, family records, etc.). I strive to make my entries as accurate and inclusive as possible. If I add suggested info into an entry that I manage, I will reference the source. Please do not ask me to add info that is not verifiable. Example: a contributor recently asked me to link two people as married simply because they were interred in the same crypt. Research revealed that they were actually mother and son, not husband and wife.

Please do not submit bios or obituaries that sensationalize the tragic circumstances of a person's passing. I do not believe these lurid and violent details belong on this web site.

I decline to give permission to use my photos for resale, for profit, or to upload to a different web site.
