RE: John W Lee
Thank you, I am at a stand still. Both of their Obits say they were buried there and I am not able to find anything.
Thank you again for your help.

RE: Gravestone Photo Permission
Thank you very much! I considered it a long shot that you'd still have the photo, so I'm very happy!

Gravestone Photo Permission

At one time, prior to 2014, there was a memorial for the wife of Columbus Alford (your Memorial# 33416876), Elizabeth "Bettie" Jones Alford, and a gravestone photo by you was attached. The memorial and your very nice photo have disappeared, so I made a new Memorial# 168421008. The photo now posted to my memorial is not as clear and legible as yours, which I archived in my Alabama Obituaries file.

I would like to add your gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of Alabama Obituaries, where Elizabeth's obituary is included. You can see the current collection at

May I have your permission to include your gravestone photo? If so, the photo caption will say:

Photo from Mount Moriah Cemetery, Troy, Pike Co., AL—
Permission granted by the photographer, Donna Chisum Fountain

If you still have your copy of the photo, it would be great if you posted it to my Memorial# 168421008.

Best regards,

John W Lee
Hello, You had posted information on my Great Grandfather John W Lee. He is buried at Fairmount Cemetery in Red level, Alabama. Is there a headstone for him?
Birth: 1876
Alabama, USA
Death: Feb. 11, 1950
Okaloosa County
Florida, USA

Also looking to see if there is a headstone for my Grandmother Era Dell Ward which is also buried there. Name could also be Eva Ward.

Any information you have would be great, Thank you.

RE: Family Tree DNA

When I looked at you and Altus in common with on Family Tree DNA, I see that you also match May Clark and Clyde Stone who are first cousins of Altus and Louis. So I think you are related through the Stone side of the family somehow.

I do not recognize any names in your tree, but the Stones came from South Carolina (1773) to Tennessee (1820) to Texas (1856). However one son and grandson left South Carolina and went to Clay County Alabama in the 1840s. Look at Clyde Stone's family tree to see other surnames associated with the Stones.

Also some of the matches are with the Bamburgs. They started out in South Carolina in 1776 or so and then moved to Alabama (1836-1860s) and on to Mississippi in 1853.

You can e-mail me at

You can call me at 214-755-9784.

I will be happy to share my spreadsheets with you.
