Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired businessman who enjoys genealogy as a hobby. I find that genealogy and "Find a grave" go hand in hand and its easy to do both at the same time and both are very rewarding.In adding Memorials for those in my family I have added memorials for many non-relatives in hope that it will help others as others have helped me. If I've submitted a relative of yours and you would like it transferred to you, just ask. I live in the Omaha metro area and thats where most of my photos were taken.Researching Bender, Ausdemore,Hittner, German,Ternus, Bockholt, Hatzenbuehler, Kramer, Wickelman and many others. Most of My family came from Germany in the Mid 1800s and settled in the North Eastern Nebraska German farming comunities and spread from there.In my research if I run across a grave of someone in the Military that is Killed in Action they get special attention and i try to find out as much as i can about them and put it on the Memorial. We owe it to these Heros and they should not be forgotten.I authorize anyone to use my photos for any reason."Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." ~~~Princess Diana

Katherine Schafer(Lincoln NE)
Hello Loren, I claimed the photo request for Katherine and knew she must be connected to a fallen serviceman if you requested it. After some searching, I found Herman Schafer. Hope they accept edits for him to connect him to his mother and father. Have tried to connect others in the Schafer family so others may know of his sacrifice. I found a small article in a Lincoln paper about him and posted to his memorial. If you think it shouldn't be there, let me know and I will remove it. Thanks. Kevin.

When you call have the (dod) Date of Death on hand.

After you get the plot, lot, range location, ask three questions:

1. Is anyone else buried in the plot;
2. Are there unused full body or cremant spots available;
3. Who owns the plot
Remember you are the only resource that can make your loved one visible again. And thatís by simply calling the cemetery office and letting me know. You wonít regret it.

Frank Rhoades Memorial# 144149441
Hello Loren, I was looking into this Frank and just wondered what you knew of him? My suspicion is that he is Francis Albert Rhodes and was born Feb. 7, 1902 to Alfred L. and Bertha in Omaha. Found a WWI draft registration from 1918 with birth date fudged to 1900 and nearest relative as mother Bertha though she died in 1908. 1930 Frank(b. 1902) is living with father Alfred, wife Freida, and sons Alfred F. and Arthur T.. Believe this Frank must have been 16 or 17 when serving in WWI and lied about age on draft form. Wondered what you thought. Thanks, Kevin

RE: Herbert Vasholtz
GOGS is pretty good at finding locations for me. They even give me beginning and ending markers in the row. It took nearly 2 hours to walk the cemetery today and find 16 pictures. The wind was strong today but should be better Friday.

Missing in Action Richard Ellis
I was wondering where you found the missing in action clipping of my great uncle Richard Ellis?

Thought it was really interesting. I visited his gravesite in HI when I was stationed there. He was my grandmother's youngest brother I believe.
