Bio Photo "Grandchildren are the dots that connect the lines from generation to generation." Lois Wyse (20th century)

"Life is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset. What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." S Pierce in memorial of "Woody" and Wilda Woodward.

I am a grandmother picking up the genealogy work started by my father, mother and uncle. Now, I am combining and elaborating on this work, linking my family genealogy (ancestors and descendents) and adding memorials for family and friends.

I assisted with the Centennial Chapter NSDAR project of photographing the headstones in Weld County Colorado.

If you have family whose memorials I manage, I will be glad to transfer these to you. If you want to copy any of the photos I have posted, feel free to as long is it is not used for commercial purposes.

"Upon my death I authorize any of my memorials to be transferred to any FAG contributor as they are requested."

RE: Barbara Arnett
Well, I think Karen does a great job at the cemetery office and Carol helps out when Karen is busy. Carol promptly checked the records and grave is indicated as marked. I couldn't find it, but I've been known to make dumb mistakes. Then again office staff are first to admit that cemetery records are definitely not perfect. Maybe someone else will have a go at it.

RE: Wally Lee (Alvarez)
This whole "trip" started because I created a memorial for a Lee and was looking in BillionGraves (BG) to see if I could find the spouse there. I decided to add the Lees in BG in Humboldt County to Find A Grave. If I hadn't done that we wouldn't be having this "conversation". :-) I am happy to be able to transfer Charlotte to someone who has a connection to her even if it is distant.

I found Albert Lee listed as Valentina's (Val's) father on her Social Security Applications and Claims Index record. Perhaps she legally changed her name, too, or Albert adopted them?

This is the 1940 census record:
Name: Charlotte Lee
Age: 67
Estimated birth year: abt 1873
Gender: Female
Race: White
Birthplace: Sweden
Marital Status: Widowed
Relation to Head of House: Mother-in-law
Home in 1940: Eureka, Humboldt, California
Map of Home in 1940: View Map
Street: Brett Street
House Number: 312
Inferred Residence in 1935: Eureka, Humboldt, California
Residence in 1935: Same Place
Resident on farm in 1935: No
Citizenship: Naturalized
Sheet Number: 19B
Attended School or College: No
Highest Grade Completed: Elementary school, 8th grade
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
Abel Rocha 28
Valentina Rocha 29
Thomas Rocha 7
Sadnyh Rocha 7
Charlotte Lee 67

This is Valentina's SSAC record where you can see her father is listed as Albert Lee:
Name: Val Lee Rocha
[Val L Rocha]
[Val Lee Lee]
Gender: Female
Race: White
Birth Date: 14 Feb 1911
Birth Place: Santa Rosa South, California
[Santa Rosa S, California]
Death Date: 7 Jan 1995
Father: Albert Lee
Mother: Charlotte E Peterson
Type of Claim: Original SSN.
Notes: Jun 1945: Name listed as VAL LEE ROCHA; 20 Jan 1995: Name listed as VAL L ROCHA

Great chatting with you and good luck on finding Fernando/Ferdinand and anything on Albert Lee. Many of the listings spell Fernando's last name Alvares so if you haven't tried that it might turn up something.

Please correct the information about James first wife who's name was Becky Batchelor, not Shoemaker. Also their marriage was in 1979 not '78.
It should also state that he was survived by his first wife Becky, their two sons Robert and Kristofor Ian and grandson's Navin, Cyrus, and Lincoln, and granddaughter Lorelai. Second wife Marilyn and step-son Antonio

Thank you ,

I was out in Fairview yesterday trying to fulfill a request. While I was there I walked by the Aldriches.
I stopped and took some pictures for you. I hope you like them. If you look on the "pictures" tab you'll see a total of four photos.
I hope you enjoy all of the pictures.

PS: Craig and Mary walked by the other day. I gotta tell ya, as I told them, from a half block away that ole Jim sure looks like that Papa of his!!

RE: Charles Watson
Done! You can see why there are so few successful searches for gravestones in this area. What is there is often unreadable. The original stones were often simple imprinted concrete bricks as families could not afford anything els.

Tuttle Mt Hope Cemetery
The only entry for Tuttle in 1846 is for March 19 for a David Tuttle's child age 2 years 1 month 5 days. Burial location is NW 1/4 lot 15 section W.
The fourth grave is just labeled Ellen R, with no date in the plot map ( I assume this is the child). The other 3 graves are labeled and there is a headstone as follows:
Mary Tuttle d. 1880 (2nd wife)
David Tuttle d. 1879
Mary Ann Tuttle d. 1847 (1st wife)
No stone for Ellen.

RE: Odelia Peterson
Well not so much a peach. I goofed! I was out at Roselawn again today and I thought maybe I'd better double-check the Peterson plot. To my chagrin, there was Odelia's name below Lyle's. There was some snow on the ground when I first checked but I thought it not enough to obscure. And the cemetery office had no record of a marker for her. Anyway, the photo now appears on her memorial page and cemetery records have been corrected.
