Hi - I see that you left a note on the memorial for Woodroe PEDDY at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. I am wondering if you are related to this PEDDY family? I am a volunteer, intending to apply for VA-provided grave markers for two PEDDY veterans - George PEDDY & David Noah PEDDY at Linwood Cmetery. I have everything I need for the applications, except the VA requires that they be authorized by a relative, and I'm not kin to them, as far as I know. The VA does not care how distant or indirect the kinship is. If you are kin to any of these folks, you could authorize, or perhaps you know of someone who is? There is no cost involved - the VA pays for the manufacture and shipment of the monuments, and volunteers here in Columbus set them on the graves. I have successfully ordered and placed about 30 of these for veterans of several wars. You may see an example of one I've set on Mem. #127967134. Thanks - John newsompage[AT]yahoo[DOT]com

|Edna Crawford King||JT Peddy|
Hello Glen, I stumbled on to JT's picture while hunting thru the USS Intrepid cruise book for info on my dad(he was a CAT officer); thought I would try to find more about JT, too. I didn't know about you having such a Kewl web site for the last name of Peddy until I Googled his whole name, Ancestry made it look like JT was born in the 1940's??? No wonder!! Then when I checked out your flower; it turns out that it was ON your site I found his statistics!! small world!
I sent in an edit for his dates and put all of your gathered info behind his picture that I found on the navysite.de for the USS Intrepid. Thanks for the hard work you have put into everything; both on your Peddy site and F.A.G. Edna King

|Shirley Stewart Milford||Re: Catherine Lott Burkeen|
Glen, thanks so much for the correction on Catherine Lott Burkeenís death date... I donít like memorials with no given name, just initials, and have been trying for some time to identify M C Burkeen, husband of Catherine Burkeen. Since you pointed out the date error on the grave marker, I saw M C was actually M G and found a Guy Burkeen, who married a Catherine Lott in McNairy County... so my mystery was solved. Are these your family? If so, I will be glad to transfer to you... just let me know.

In regards to the edits I placed for Joe's birth date, etc., they were based on his WWI Draft Card, the CADI, & the U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index. All of them had Aug. 11, 1874 as his birth date. Here's some other data you might like:
U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007
Joe Henry Ward
Birth Date: 11 Aug 1874
Birth Place: Jack, Texas
Father Name: James J Ward
Mother Name: Seretha A Hensley
|Michael Culbertson||RE: Silas Vestal|
Is Silas buried in New Friendship, which is in Henderson County, or in the town of Henderson, which is in Chester County?
|Vickye Blatherwick||Fowler Memorial|
