Photo of burial site
Hello.

I sent you my heartfelt thanks for posting a photo of my grandfathers burial site. He name was Derek Charles Ward and is buried in the Rheinberg War Cemetery. He has been a mystery to me my whole life and information has only recently been made available to me from a war historian who provided me with the graveyard details. I have just stumbled across this today whist doing a search of the cemetery. Any scrap of information about him just means so much to me. I at least now have some details about his last flight, his crew, one photo (which I added next to your photo of the gravestone) and the letter from the king to his widow, my grandmother. Thanks so much for making my day.

Picture of grave Hotten War Cemetery Belgium
Hello Des, thank you for your excellent work. I am researching family friend Flight Lieutenant George Simpson Henderson who was killed in action 13/08/44. He lies in Hotten War Cemetery. You have kindly posted a photograph of a head stone in the Find a Grave website but unfortunately the picture is of another serviceman, a F Henderson who also is interred in Hotten Cemetery. Would you happen to have the correct picture in your records so that we can correct this. Many thanks, David Murray

Thank you
Mr. Philippet, Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to Commemorate the sacrifice of these men. I am currently documenting all of the Blair County, Pennsylvania men and women that sacrificed their lives during World War II. I seen your Photo of George E. Greiner, buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, who was born and raised in Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania.

Thank you again,
Toby

I wish to thank you so very much for the location and grave of my husbands relative. I will certainly acknowledge you in my records, for the find. You are to be commended on your work! My own ancestors came from Holland in Westbroek!

Many thanks for the photo. The family of his co-pilot is planning a visit to the site of the crash in the next few weeks.
Today, as you know, we commemorate the anniversary of D-Day. May we never again see death on such a scale.
Tom
