Being a member of my hometown's Historical Society and a genealogist both got me started photographing and transcribing cemeteries. Well, that and the fact that I love cemeteries! They're a great combination of nature and history, places to be quiet and alone, and yet not feel alone. I'm currently working on my hometown's cemeteries and, when I get the chance, several in Vermont where my ancestors and relatives are buried.
