RE: Albert Langen
I talked to local family members. Ralph is buried in Alton, IL with his wife, Beniece. They all feel that Albert is buried there too. I had found Ralph on Find A Grave and with your information I was able to be certain that he is not buried in St. Raymond. The family said that Albert lived most of his life in Alton and there would have been no reason for him to be buried here. Again thank you for your assistance.

RE: Albert Langen
Thank you. At least I have a date of death. Sorry to bother you again, but did you have anything on his brother, Ralph? There is a Ralph Langen born the correct year buried in Alton. Would this perhaps be his brother? Thanks again.

Hi, you have a floral tribute to David Johnston, stating your husband's lineage was through his son William Marshall Johnston - I've never seen this link, and I feel like I've spent the better part of 20 years researching it. Could you assist me as to his stats? I would love to find a new line.

No Ma' problems. Glad to have found his grave for you and again, I hope that the next chance you get to come to our fair city you now have the chance to visit his grave.

Hi Linda, I saw your note on this soldier's memorial and went out to the Confederate section of Old City Cemetery to find his grave yesterday. I posted the best photo I took of his marker to your memorial. Sorry about the poor quality. The light yesterday morning made it difficult. You will also see that the initials A G are on his grave marker. The ladies here in Lynchburg who put up all of the grave markers 50 years after these men were laid to rest did the best they could with the records they had available to them. He is listed as Andrew Gant in the burial records. Those same records are viewable online courtesy of the Diuguid funeral home which is still in business. I have used their records countless times to help me identify the men resting in the Confederate section. I hope you get the chance to visit his grave if you make the trip to Lynchburg again in the future.

Best regards,

Thank you so much for adding to info on her memorial. I had hit a dead end searching for Indiana Blackwood's parents and you just filled in the blanks.

Re your question about connections: I'm preparing to leave town and Luella's granddaughter is preparing to leave the country for a month, but I will try to get some info and get it to you ASAP.
