Sorry Tammy, I thought I was on another person's message board. Please disregard the previous one.
However, I do have a question for you regarding your John Obermeyer request. There is already a very nice photo posted there, is there something different you were hoping to get??? Perhaps a wife's grave also? Please let me know.

I just posted his photo, stone in bad shape, had to quite a bit of editing to make it legible at all. Thanks again for your generousity in letting me post my photo. Have a good week & weekend!

Frank, I believe adopted the name LOCHINSKI as his surname. Perhaps that is how it came to be spelled when he was in the military, and rather than deal with the hassle of having it corrected, he accepted it. I've heard of others doing the same. An on-line cemetery index lists his name as Lochinski and that might be what is on his tombstone.
He is buried in the veteran's cemetery at Woods, Wisconsin.
OBITUARY: Beaver Dam Argus, Thursday, November 7, 1940, page 5.
Frank Ptaschinski of this city passed away in death at the Veteran's Hospital in Woods, Wis., on Monday. Death resulted from a complication of ailments.
He was a son of Adolph and Mary Ptaschinski and was born in Beaver Dam, May 7th, 1870. He had made his home here continuously up to two months ago when he was removed to the veteran's hospital for treatment.
Two brothers and four sisters survive. They are Joseph and Arthur, Mrs. Jacob Graff, Mrs. Anna Fischer, Mrs. Andrew Schweiger of this city, and Mrs. W. L. Brown of Merrill.
Mr. Ptaschinski was a member of Company K, Second Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and served with his company in the Puerto Rican campaign of the Spanish-American War.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Veteran's Home at Woods at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning and interment was in the veteran's cemetery there. The services were conducted by Rev. Francis A. Finnegan.
By the way, Tammy, I wrote and published a book on the descendants of Val and Marianne Ptaschinski, my g-g-grandparents. I believe there is a copy of it at the Beaver Dam Public Library.

Thanks for noticing Frank Kennedy's incorrect death month. I fixed that. And yes, indeed, Mary Fritza was the daughter of Valentine and Marianne Ptaschinski, my great great grandparents.
