Bio Photo THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Eunice Stone
Regarding memorial #29597379, if this Eunice is the wife of Nathan Stone, some records say her year of death is 1846, not 1816. But the photo of the headstone is unclear, it could be 1816. Is there any chance that you could get another look at it? And let me know if it could possibly be 1846? If you can't I understand! Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for posting not only photos of headstones, but obituaries for family members. Very much appreciated, especially by those of us at some distance from Louisville.

RE: Axel
Hi Silentarcher99
Thanks for getting back in touch with me.
Axel Anderson that you took a picture of his grave stone is my Grandfather's nephew. The first time I went on Find A Grave there was on obit there. The second I went back two his grave site there was a Obit on Axel Anderson. It had his birth date which has the same as my Bror Axel Anderson.
I was really thrill when I was his Obit.
Now I have to find an Obit on his first wife Ann Anderson
I did find a Bombard family member on Ancestry.com and wrote to them.
I have to hear from them.
Thanks again for getting in touch with me.

Greetings

If it's possible could you transfer the memorial of William M Lesher # 32209644 to us. He was a veteran and saw combat with our organization, in World War 1. For the centennial of the World War, we are trying to bring together all of Troopers of the era. Much thanks in advance !
