My name is Elana Kahn, and I live in Boston, MA. I'm married to a wonderful man and have four adorable kids (7-year-old boy/girl twins, a 5-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old girl). I'm currently in grad school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife.|
My mom was always the genealogist in the family, so she's the one I always turn to for questions, but now I'm the keeper of the electronic records (on Geni and Ancestry). Unfortunately I do not live near where my relatives are buried, so I either have to travel or have volunteers take photos. Most of my family is buried either in Rochester, NY or in and around New York City. I've been using my research skills to try and find where many of my family members are buried and so far have been somewhat successful. I still have about 50 people to locate, though.
Here are the last names that particularly interest me and the most likely place for their burial:
New York City area:

Why are you interested in the name Rockoff. Do you have Rockoffs in your family. I am the great-grand-son of Azar Rockovitiky (Rockoff) and my grandmother was Betha Rockoff. I know a of lot of Rockoff in the NY Metro area (ie CT and NY). What is your connection?

Today I attempted to fulfill your open requests in this cemetery. I was unable to find the Korenstein's but the section listed is very large. I will attempt at a future date.
Yom Tov Schoenberg is burred next to Hyman and Ida and Freda is buried on the other side of them with a very similar stone to Yom Tov. I share this info as Rebecca is listed as Yom Tov's wife. She is in the same section but quite far away.
Feel free to email me with additional requests for this cemetery of the original photos

Could you please make a few corrections on your entry for Thomas Davenport (#110134813) in Mount Auburn? First, his parents are unknown, the two that are listed is a popular entry on the Internet, but no proof has been found. Next, Mary Forth was not his wife. The Mary Forth that married Thomas Davenport in England was born in 1587, which would make her 54 years old at the time she gave birth to the first of her ten children. Quite a woman!
You are right about the stone just being a memorial. Of the five generations listed, Thomas was the only one that died in the area. Plus they all died before Mount Auburn was founded. I would appreciate if you made the above corrections. I'm starting to see people use this as a source in their family trees and the erroneous information keeps getting passed on.

Ms Kahn what is your email? I speak to Joe Kolodney often who also believes Leo and Leon are the same person. My email is Jking3@tampabay.rr.com
|John King||Leo Kolodney|
Leo Kolodney was Joe Kolodney's uncle. Leo left home back in around 1908. I believe that Leo is actually my grandfather Leon J. King. Does anyone know the birth and death dates of Leo J. Kolodney?

Do you know Esther's son Joe Kolodney? He has lots of knowledge about the family - all sides. I just spoke to him last night.

You requested a photo from Beth Alom cemetery in New Britain, CT for my great grandfather's grave. His name was Joseph Kolodney (married to Dora Frishman Kolodney). Are you related to them?
