Bio and Links
Bio Photo I research Cole, Dohrer, and Ruppert concentrating on Johnson County Iowa as well as Hitchcock from Ohio throughout the US. I have only just begun to post the graves of people in my trees. I like this site because it allows the entry of family relationships, which become more important as time goes by.

James D. Perdue
I found James and his wife Catherine in the 1900 U.S. Census (in Grass Valley, CA). His age is reported to be 55 at that time which would make his birth year at about 1845. The stone does appear to be in very good condition so is likely a replacement stone (or perhaps they was no stone and one was placed there relatively recently).

RE: Elmore Hitchcock
Is your email address listed here still correct? I want to send you a few things I have discovered.
I am not related except distantly - but I am helping a close relative complete research for an application to the National Mayflower Society.
She is a descendant of Naomi Cory Hitchcock whose Cory line leads back to Mayflower passenger George Soule through his daughter Elizabeth. This is a new line finally proven in 2012.
Thank you.

Okay - weird there is zero notice on his death.
There are three legal articles in the newspaper that is house is being sold for taxes. The last was just ten days before his reported death. There is nothing - no obit, California death notice or anything.

That is why I thought something like
Plot: unknown/unmarked...or similar.

With that said, I may have uncovered Ida Virginia Hitchcock Moseley's burial spot in another location. I will get back with you on that. Thanks.

You must have moved your memorials over to this cemetery after I created the memorials. Please delete yours.

Kind regards

Leroy Brown Grand Island cemetery
I found the obituary and it IS dated 1919. I also have the burial plot card for Lot 72 in Section D (the mausoleum). There is an entry for Leroy which reads:

Leroy Clarence Brown born 2-9-1852
died 3-21-1918 BUT there is a note which indicates he is in the cemetery book as dying in 1919.

Also, the on line cemetery records from Grand Island City cemetery give the death year as 1919.
Do you know how to get to those records on line?
