Welcome to the Memorial site for United States Marine Corps Aerial Photographic Squadron VMD-154 and its sister squadrons. VMD-154 was a World War II aerial reconnaissance squadron which was stationed at Camp Elrod on Espiritu Santo Island, New Hebrides (now known as Vanuatu) in the South Pacific. Flying in B-24 Liberators on top secret photographic missions, the squadron combat crews mapped the South Pacific islands and monitored Japanese activities. More than 578 men served in this unit and every one of them was vital to the success of these missions.
