I became interested in genealogy about six years ago when I entered the name of one of my great-grandfathers in a free genealogy search engine. I hit 'search' and up came many names I was familiar with and some I wasn't! I was hooked! |
At that time I knew basically what most people know about their ancestors--the names of my grandparents and the names of some of my great-grandparents.
Since then I've acquired a lot more knowledge about the people who lived before me. It's like being a detective, and it's so exciting to uncover a tiny little piece to the puzzle! I want to know who they were and what they did because they are my past and I am a product of the decisions they made. I still consider myself a beginner because I'm still searching!

|t turner||Turner Family|
Hello Carolyn , I have been researching the Turner family for years . I have documented my line back to 1781 with Henry Turner . I have no info on his parents or siblings . I accidentally came across John Harbinger Turner and for some reason I started noticing a few things - some names are similar or the same, I didn't think much about it til I realized something else in common - South Carolina -Georgia and Pope County ,Ark. (places they came from and places they went to) Do you know any info on John Harbinger Turner siblings or parents . Thank you very much ,tturner

Thank you so much. I will add the photo tonight. Regardless of the quality, I have access no other photos so it's just perfect!

I would like to use a few of your photos of Mary and James Cyrus McAnulty on my ancestry.com family tree. You have a photo of a couple that I assume are these two. They are my stepdaughter's great grandparents. Thanks,

Are you related to John M. and Margaret Rackley Treadwell - Memorial # 7359891? I have a list of their children from Ancestry.com that I cannot verify. One they list is Ellen Treadwell. I found her marriage to W. E. Godfrey 9 Mar 1902 in Witt Springs (near Pope County, AR). Her Find a Grave Memorial #35403033 doesn't have parents listed. Do you have a complete list of Margaret and John's kids? These are my kids great grandparents.

Everything seems to stop with my Grandfather. All I know is what my mother has told me. I don't even know his mother's name. All I know is that she was of German decent. My Grandfather knew how to speak German and taught it to my older brother and sisters. I never knew him. He had passed about 14 years before I was born. He had black hair and black eyes, Grandma had blonde hair and blue eyes, but my mother had red hair and green eyes.

I have plenty on Verda McAnulty/McGee. I have her family quite a ways back to Scotland and Ireland. It is my Grandfather that I can find nothing about. I have no idea what his father's name was. When I had asked my mother what her grandfather's name was, she told me that she could not remember because he was dead by the time she was born, but everyone said he had red hair.

Hello...many long years have gone by. Our computer broke down many years ago, and I have been looking for your particular posts on the McAnulty family again. Ok...so...as you can see I have a new email. My Grandmother was Verda McAnulty/McGee. Her husband William McAnulty, is the one that I am trying to find the family. He had a son named William too, but that was my Uncle William Raymond. If you have any information on the family of William McAnulty Sr. I would appreciate it. I can't find anything...smiles.
