Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a husband, father, minister, musician, and writer. I am from the Methodist tradition and have discovered over 30 clergy on my family tree. One 4th great grandfather, Levi Garrison, was a Methodist circuit rider ordained by Francis Asbury. About a dozen Garrison pastors from early Georgia history were his relatives, along with Meaders, Hagood, and Quillian relatives who were preachers. Another 4th great grandfather, Thomas Maxwell, an early Baptist pioneer pastor in Georgia, was jailed and persecuted for his faith and was defended by Patrick Henry. A 3rd great grandfather, Isaac Taylor, was one of a trio of brothers who were early circuit riders in Alabama and Mississippi development. This tradition of ministry was passed down to nearby generations, including my father, both of my grandfathers, and several uncles and cousins. And if that weren't enough ... I married a Methodist clergywoman, who is herself descended from a dozen clergy relatives! I am also proud of my roots among the farmers, machinists, civil engineers, military servants, and homemakers in North Alabama and North Georgia, part of the fabric of who I am.

My family lines that I research include West, Hagood, Wills, Thompson, Garrison, Quillian, Maxwell, Mitchell, Hamby, Clark, Taylor, Williams, Holland, Price, and Arendale.

RE: Correction on Arendale Location
I entered the data you sent in their memorials. Thank you so much for working together. Are you a descendant? Do you want to manage their memorials? Just request to do so from their memorials and I will transfer them to you.

RE: MORE correction on Joel B. Arendale
I have sent the lady who added Joel and his wife the information to copy & paste. I only added Jr, so will add information to his page. Please do not duplicate - it really creates havoc when trying to link. That is why there is only suppose to be one memorial per person.

RE: MORE correction on Joel B. Arendale
I decided since there were two sets of markers to leave both sets of pages. I have referenced the original pages to the ones you created. How are you sure which cemetery they are actually buried in?

What document sent you to the other cemetery telling you they were buried there instead of where stated?

RE: MORE correction on Joel B. Arendale
You were not really suppose to create new memorials, but correct the existing ones, as they were already on.

Very good. i have begun. I am anxious to read it myself. I am interested in what he had to say about Slavery. This was a very, yes perhaps ugly, but complicated problem. It, the subject of Slavery, and the Civil War, were not nearly as simple as many people would have us believe.

I see that you posted the photo of his stone and appreciate it..I'm wondering if you know anything about his family or if there is anyone still living in the area that does? I have his father as Albert D. Sr... whose father was Adrian Cobb and mother was Rebecca Crossley.... but I can't find anything on Adrian's parents...and would love to talk with someone from the family who is interested in family history.. thanks
