Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am another lover of history and genealogy. After 26 years of research, I have a pretty good idea of how I came to be, and it's been fascinating!

The majority of the memorials that I have posted are of people who are related to me. If you want to ask about them, use either the Edit button on their page or leave a message here. If you send me new information using the Edit button, please make sure that it's based on a good source. I will probably ask you for it.

One request: Please do NOT post death certificates on my memorials. I do not consider them a good use of a picture. Most my memorials already have all the information from the person's death certificate (if it exists). Please do not post any other documents either, such as census pages.

Two of my favorite verses: "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (John 3:17) and "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)

Oakland Cemetery - Atlanta
Hi Suellen,

Thank you for all the work you have done in the Oakland Cemetery! I have deep roots in this area of GA and your work has greatly helped add to my family tree.

I wanted to let you know that I've completed a bio for William C Sanders, at least for now, and thought you might want to take a look. Many of the pallbearers & escorts mentioned in the obit have been linked back to their memorials, many of which you have added information to. William's memorial # is 54912768. His wife, Rebecca Hulsey, is my cousin.

Best regards,
Debbie Hulsey Zouras

I found this

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, "Pedigree Resource File," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:SP6D-54Z : accessed 2017-04-16), entry for Sion /Massey/.

I have not found written proof like Sion son of Noel in a Will but he is living in the same area as his father but then again I am not great on sections and plats. I am currently researching this family and will be going to Anderson SC and visit the court house, library and hopefully find the plantation home and the Massey records. Then again they may have a museum in the town. I am really excided about this trip.

This tree is also interesting:

I am not related to the Massey's,I am doing this research for someone else.

Where did you find the picture of John Robert Stamps??? I would like to use it in my book, "Stamps Family History and Lineage". Do you have any other information on him?

John Hill Luther
Suellen,

You posted a picture from a brochure located at Baylor University concerning my ancestor Johh Hill Luther.

There is a memorial headstone/statue at the North Belton Cemetery, Belton, TX, posted by another member. John Hill Luther died in Sau Paulo, Brazil and stories exist that his bones were returned to TX when the family returned from Missions work. Are you aware of any death certificate info for my ancestor?

Are you related, or can you share any contacts that I can seek out concerning death certificate information?

RE: Daniel Eldredge
I did a couple of years ago. I was told it was their relative; and they ought to know.
I have even offered to share his Civil War records, but......
Have a great day.

Sorry. I got my fingers on the wrong keys.
I got this information (below) from a fellow researcher. If you can edit the photo to Lt. rather than Capt. that would be great.
Thanks.
Fran

Hi Fran,

You are correct that he did decline the promotion to Capt. I have two references as well that state this.

The bio I posted came from the following book that references his rank as Capt.: Source: Officers of the Volunteer Army and Navy who served in the Civil War, published by L.R. Hamersly & Co., 1893, 419 pgs.

The image that was posted by the other individual appears to have come from some unidentified publication that has him as Capt. I suspect they were not aware he declined the position.

All of the images posted on his memorial page are Eldredge. I've attached one more for you which shows him as a Sergt.

Did you notice that whoever created the Find-a-Grave memorial page posted this info which is not for our Daniel Eldredge? It's for a Daniel Eldridge (different spelling.)

Daniel,

Enlisted as a Private on 14 May 1861 in New York City, NY at the age of 16,
Enlisted in Company K, 32nd Infantry Regiment New York on 31 May 1861.
Was Wounded on 07 May 1862
Mustered out on 09 June 1863 in New York, NY.

Cheers,
Dave
