First, I am "retired" from the 9-5 (or 7 to 7, as it were). My wife retired and has her own ID on FAG. Both of us enjoy trying to find and photograph grave markers for those who request them.|
I was born in East Tennessee. My principle English roots are in Western NC and East TN (Greene, Washington, and the part of Washington County that became Unicoi). The German roots are in eastern Pennsylvania then on to Greene County and that part of Greene County that became Cocke Co. Family roots include Jones, Gilbert, Ottinger, Rader, Cline, Buckner, Neas, Nease, Ottinger, and Winter(s).
When I discovered Find A Grave and realized the importance of the site to so many families who cannot get to an area of the country where their relatives are buried, I wanted to join the effort to help. Personally, I now realize how a simple picture or two can be worth so much. I will do my part but will never be able to match some of the incredible work done by so many volunteers at this site. If I post a photo or information about an individual that someone's family does not want posted, I will be happy to pull it off and assure that no disrespect was intended.

Thanks for this "proof of burial" photo of this Civil War soldier. This will make it so much easier to get his grave registered on the new registry at the East Tn. History center. Thanks

PJ, Thanks and I'll do them justice. I just found out that these two are actually brothers. I found a sister-in-law living in Kingsport that I'll go and visit later this week, she has photos to go along with info she'll tell me. Hopefully one day we'll meet, if we haven't already. Have a wonderful holiday season, Allen
THANK YOU for the transfer, it is greatly appreciated!

Thank you on Samuel Riddle and glad my info posted will help you. Im still missing 2 of his siblings one is Nancy (Riddle) Mickle and the other is their brother William Riddle and his wife Mary Lewis. Mary was the sister of Mcager Osborn Lewis . I think his son is listed in same cemetery as Samuel or it is Older McCager. I forget which one is there but elder Mcager's wife is Frances Johnson. I dont know if she is buried there too.

Someone contacted me about your memorial for Samuel Riddle since we seem to have a duplicate. I had mine listed in a different cemetery because it seems the Lewis Family cemetery went by different names in Ashe County. I changed the cemetery on mine but now there are 2 memorials for Samuel Riddle. Your is older than mine however I have all the info added to him and already have him linked to his family. I dont know if its possible for you to just add your tombstone to mine and then delete yours. This would be easier than me deleting mine adding the info all over again and asking for you to possible transfer the grave to me.
This is my Samuel Riddle memorial 94889609
