Past President of the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society (www.mvgenealogy.org) & author of New Copies of Old Records from Hebron CT, 1708-1875 (Heritage Books, 2011) & various articles on New England genealogy.I have transcribed Litchfield County, CT cemeteries from the Hale Collection because I'm looking for 18th Century collateral ancestors in our Birge, Fox, Hatch, Holcomb, Hindman, Hunt, Noble, Peck, Thompson, Wilcox, & Willson lines. If you are related to other families in these cemeteries, let me know & I will transfer ownership of memorials with your surnames to you so you can add information and links. I have many other Connecticut ancestors in central Connecticut cemeteries, where I will also transfer memorials unrelated to our family.Most of my Connecticut memorials are copied from the Hale Collection, which transcribed all Connecticut tombstones during the Depression. The transcription is not error-free, but Hale was able to read things then which are no longer legible today.The New Hampshire entries are all from Colonial Gravestone Inscriptions in the State of NH, by Mrs. Charles Goss (1942). None are close relations of mine, so if you want to make additions or corrections, please just request a transfer.When contacting me about a specific memorial, PLEASE do so from the Edit:Corrections & Queries tab on the memorial itself. This makes it SO much easier for me to respond quickly & accurately.|

My name is Charlene. I'd like to thank you for the research you do for some many of us interested in our geneology. It's truly amazing.
I have a question for you about Frances. Her Find a Grave Memorial # is 344491722. Her burial unknown. I believe she's a great grandmother of mine so I've been researching her line--her husband being John Hill. Presumably she remarried Jonas Austin after John's death.
That said, I've been unable to document that her maiden name is Tilden. Though she's listed by others on Ancestry as Tilden I've been unable to find any records of a Frances born to this family. Do you have an information to document or share on this--perhaps a source. Most records indicate that there was a Frances______married to John Hill and later a Frances Hill married Jonas Austin. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for getting back to me on this. Have a blessed day, Char

I want to thank you for all your hard work and postings. I suspect that we are probably related as your name keeps popping up on Find A Grave, on postings for people possibly related to me. Latest being the MAY Family of Mayfield,England and Roxbury, Massachusetts. Your postings help me to fill in blanks and lead me to take my research into new directions. Again Thank you.
|Dennis Wright||Edward Parker|
There are some inaccuracies in this bio. They are commonly held inaccuracies and the writer of the bio should not feel bad. These inaccuracies are just about everywhere.
Edward was my immigrant ancestor. I have made extensive study of him and his life. I'll point out the inaccuracies and the tell you some extra things that can be added to the bio.
Edward Parker was not born in 1622, but earlier. His birthdate is unknown, but his age is closer to Elizabeth's age. She was born in 1606 in Chesham, England the daughter of Henry Wood and Isabel Goodspeed.
He and Elizabeth were buried in the Old Burial Ground in New Haven. The burial ground became lost to antiquity over the years, but was recently discovered under what is now the New Haven Green. Many headstones have been recovered but unfortunately the headstones of Edward, Elizabeth, their children, and Elizabeth's first husband John Potter have not yet been recovered. He and Elizabeth were married in July of 1646.
The name of Edward's father is unknown. I checked Jacobus and found no indication of Edward's birthdate, place of birth, or father's name. A history early New Haven says Edward was a butcher. This occupation is supported by records of the New Haven courts. I have a reprint of these records which mentions Edward several times.
He grew to be a large landowner and well respected man in New Haven. He was not well respected early in his residence there getting into some conflict with one of the pillars of society, Richard Malbone. Edward gave up his side of the conflict and was allowed to join the church.
|Roman Kantov||Pisarko - Pokutny tragedy|
My name's Roman fm Odessa,Ukraine.Just found the
info on Peter Pisarko's grave at St.Nicholas Cemetery. I know this tragedy that happened in Taftville,CT in 1925 since the younger sister of Samuel Pokutny (the man who shot Pisarko and committed suicide afterwards) was my great grand-mother.
But now I'm looking for the grave of Pokutny's wife,
Vera Pokutny. I know that after Samuel's suicide she moved to Manchester, Hartford CT and lived there with her little daughter, Nina. I also know that Vera passed away in 1978.
Would appreciate yr valuable advise on it.
|Penny Reynolds||Memorial# 37142281 Phebe Hewes Goad|
According to the information on Phebe's memorial, she and Richard had 10 children, none of whom were named Abraham.
The Abraham Goad attached to is actually their grandson. Their son John is his father.

I would like to thank you, Linda Mac, for stealing credit for all the research I did on my 8th great grandmother. Your original record had no dates and no cemetery listing and no information. You copied everything from my memorial and is getting all the credit. You did not respond to any correspondences at all. I hope You are proud of yourself. All my work was merged with yours and you are no relation at all.
