Family research has been a part of my life for over 30 years. I do volunteer work at the LDS Family History Center located in my neighborhood even though I am not Mormon. I call myself the gentile librarian. I live on the west side of Houston in Katy. I was born in Waco, Texas and go there every few months to be with family. Many of my family members are buried in the Robinson Cemetery south of Waco going back to my great-great-grandmother. Growing up in Robinson, a farming community at the time, was a wonderful experience. |
At the age of fifteen my parents and I moved to Texarkana, Texas. I completed high school and junior college in Texarkana. While attending UT my parents moved back to Robinson. I did six months of active duty in the Marine Corps and five and a half years in the reserve program. After completing the six months active duty, I moved to Houston, TX to seek my fortune. I would have to say my wife, children and grandchildren are my fortune. I am happily married and retired and have eight grandchildren which add joy to my life. If you think I can help you, feel free to contact me.
If you have any corrections or additions to a memorial, please let me know. If you would like for me to transfer a memorial, please let me know.

I feel like I'm been a member since it all started! I found out about findagrave when I was writing a book about the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and one day while there researching, I ran into Jim Tipton, founder of the site. And come to find out, he lived in Salt Lake City, about 4 houses away from one of my best friends!

I have uploaded this lady's obituary as published in The Galveston Daily and added some edits from the article. Not a relative. I read a lot of old Texas newspapers and obits. I try to add info to Find A Grave for family researchers.

Additions you requested have been made to both memorials.
I very much appreciate you making the page for my Great Great Grandmother Mamie Naquin. I was wondering where the information about her parents came from. I am putting together a family tree.

|Lisa Bailey||Ben Campbell #148311189|
Thank you for your suggestion to change Ben Campbell #148311189 from Junior to III.
However, he was registered at Rice Institute as Ben Jr. Also, his obituary lists him as Ben Jr. and the obituary refers to his son as Ben III. Although Ben Juniorís grandfather was also a Ben Campbell (Mayor of Houston, 1913-1917), Iím guessing his middle name was not Singleton.
So at this point, I am declining the suggestion. Please let me know if you have another source for the change, and I will add the info to his bio.

Thanks for all the information on the Mansfields. Yes, they are related to me. My grandmother Ada Mansfield Kennedy, was daughter of Charles Potter Kennedy and Annie Mansfield Kennedy and was granddaughter to James D. Mansfield and Catherine Casey Mansfield.
You did excellent work at Glenwood Cemetery! And now you are working on Washington? Wow, what a project.
Again, thanks, and please keep up the good work!!

Bob, the other two markers are for father and daughter. Alva Richardson Nabors and Mary Louise Nabors Evans. They are listed on FG, plus the two that you requested originally. Dee
