I just wanted to give you additional information to add to the entry you put on Find A Grave for Daniel S. Brown.

His middle name is Strother and he was born May 7, 1824 in Culpeper County, Virginia.

Thanks!

Interesting designations. I'm just not used to that kind of arrangement. Many thanks.

John, yes he was in the 24th Regiment, I just attached record to his FamilySearch profile. Enlisted in 1861. In 1864 he was with the 2nd Virginia Cavalry, Company I, attached that as well.
These records are noted in "2nd Virginia Cavalry", by Robert Driver Jr., 1995.

Scott, thank you so much for your help. I dont know who I could call there but I'll figure it out. When I was there everyone but few had numbers or initials if my memory is right. So happy you were able to respond. Sue Knudsen, Seattle

Thank you. When you were there did you catalogue the headstone numbers or how do I locate? I am on the west coast. Sue K

Donna Harper
James A Lukens
Hello Scott....my name is Donna Harper and I would like to find the location of my 2x great grandfather's, James Andrew Lukin, grave. The info that you have on findagrave for James A Lukens is so similar that I am wondering if they are one in the same. My James was born, according to my info, in Mar 1837 and died Jan 12, 1901. He did belong to Co G 28th VA Infantry Regiment in the Civil War. His children completed a headstone application for military vets in 1931 and the marker was shipped in Oct 1931. His last census record in 1900 has him living in Staunton, Bedford Co., VA. Records state that he was buried on a farm belonging to J. W. Howell, who appeared to have passed away by the time the military marker was requested. I am not sure where this Clifton cemetery is located in Bedford or if it is in the same general area as Staunton used to be. Any help that you can give would be much appreciated.
