"When I go to a cemetery, I don't just see tombstones. I see families there. I see history there. I see much more than just a stone..."|
I've been working on genealogy for about 20 years now. I stumbled upon this site and so impressed with the idea that I decided to volunteer and add graves as I ran across them. It saddens me to see the state of some of the graveyards I've visited, but I feel like I'm helping save part of history by photographing the stones that are still there. If I can be of any help just let me know.
"Genealogy is the art of collecting tidbits of the lives of those who came before us. And a genealogist sorts, organizes and nurtures this info for the purpose of paying it forward to a future generation's hands. The bucket is in our hands now, for a moment it's "ours", but the rest of the brigade is waiting for that pail of water to be passed to the next soul." Gerblady
if you would like a transfer of a memorial, please use the "edit" button on the memorial and state your relationship. I will gladly transfer memorials within 4 direct generations. Others I will be happy to consider. :-)

|Cousin||RE: George Cannon|
Thank you so much. This was about George Washington Ham, not his grandson George Ham Cannon who was killed in 12/7/41 (died 12/8) and had no children.
Fortunately I own Zoe Ham Reeves's grave and Guinevere Ham Ostrander's daughter is still living, so I've been able to add the two sisters to the sibling lists.
I greatly appreciate the work you're doing!

|Diane Winters||Virginia Fuchs Palmer Carwein|
Thanks for sending the request to link my memorial for Frank Carwein to his last wife, Virginia Fuchs Palmer Carwein. Unfortunately I find that a memorial was entered for Virginia using her correct surname at the time of death, prior to the one entered by the contributor who has taken a photo of the marker showing her burial with her 1st husband under the surname of Palmer. I will send a message to the 'duplicate' contributor and let them work it out with the original contributor. In the mean time, I have declined your link request and linked Frank to the original memorial.
Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention.
|kee||Mary R Mauzy Sinsabaugh - 46979435|
Mary was married three times:
1) to John Lewis Winship on 23 May 1864 in Rush co., IN
2) to Gustavus Henry Voss on 31 Aug 1882 in Rush co., IN (his Find a Grave memorial no. is 6372899); and
3) to Hiram Sinsabaugh on 17 Aug 1886 in Oakland, Alameda co., CA.
Judge G.H. Voss was married first to Sarah Ann Evans Voss (Find a Grave mem. no. 6372901), who died 18 May 1880. He died 11 Mar 1883, so he and Mary weren't together for long.

|Karen S. Cowger||RE: Morgan Cemetery|
How can I get a copy of the transcription these records? Was this transcription just for the Morgan Cemetery or other cemeteries in Rushville area?
Again Thank you for your work.

|Karen S. Cowger||Morgan Cemetery|
I see your name on the memorials for this cemetery in Rush County, Indiana.
Do you have pictures of all the stones?
My GG grandmother (Elizabeth Ann (Caldwell) COWGER passed away in 1842 in Rush County, IN. Her husband's uncle David COWGER (1802-1842) is buried in the Morgan Cemetery and your name is on his Memorial. I have added Elizabeth to this Cemetery because Rush County cemeteries, do not have her listed anywhere.
I am hoping that she is buried in Morgan Cemetery and you might have documentation on the burials that you have found.
Any help will be appreciated,
Karen S Cowger (#47092422)

Please remove Gertie (Elson) Anderson from this memorial, she is not a parent of Joseph P. Mauzy. Gertie (Elson) Anderson memorial is: 20533526. I think this is a OOPS moment. Gertie is a distant member of my family.
Please correct, thank you.

|Robert Steen||Theresa Plessinger (56885144) maiden name|
I put in a change to the name for Theresa the other day to change it to True. However, I have done some more research and it turns out that she was a distant cousin to Morrison Plessinger and her maiden name is in fact, Plessinger as well. Morrison's father was Hugh Plessinger who's father Philip was the brother of Theresa's father Jacob Plessinger. This is not the only time when one of Hugh's children married one of Adam's. Theresa's sister Laura married Loraine Plessinger also one of Hugh's sons. I guess this was not an uncommon practice back in the day.
