|Diane Gravlee||RE: Mangle Photos|
I don't go necessarily by the guidelines, especially if I am not related. I would be happy to transfer over to you and if someone else closer in the family wants them later, you can do that.
|Diane Gravlee||William Mangle in West Side Cem|
I posted a photo of his marker tonight. The only other Mangle nearby was his wife and two others, Richard and Lynn. You may remember that I wrote you that you had William in a non-existent cemetery in Sunbury; he was transferred over to Orchard Hills (aka West Side) in Shamokin Dam and that is where I photographed his marker. I have created memorials for Ann, Lynn and Richard Mangle and would be happy to transfer them over to you. Use the edit tab and scroll to other and request them.
|Janice Dyer Doran||Banks Woodford|
First let me thank you for the picture of Banks Woodford's memorial. There is a duplicate memorial for Banks. I was given management of his memorial, set up by Elizabeth Foster Tilton who created his memorial back in 2008. #27815973 She has him in Snyder Cem. Olanta, Clearfield Co. Pa. and you have him in Lyleville Cem, Lyleville, Clearfield Co., Pa. Is there any way you can verify which cemetery is correct? I know the memorial stone is correct, but need to determine which cemetery it is. Elizabeth has written a large manuscript on the Woodfords and I was trying to connect all of them on Find A Grave. I'm a descendant of this Woodford line.

|Michael S. Caldwell||RE: Ralph Mangus|
Hi, yes, that was a bit of a scandal; Ralph's mother was Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Carter); her first husband abandoned them (George C. Mangus); here's an article about it:
Altoona, PA: Altoona Mirror, issue of Friday, 23 April 1915, p. 13, col. 1
GIVEN UP AS DEAD, DESERTER RETURNS
George C. Mangus, Who Left Altoona Fifteen Years Ago, Returns to Find Wife Happily Married.
George C. Mangus of Idaho, a former Altoonan, left this city fifteen years ago, after deserting his wife and three small children. His whereabouts were unknown during all these years by his family and friends. One week ago, Mr. Mangus, in the same manner that attended his sudden departure, returned to this city.
He came to see the family that he had deserted and also his brother and sisters. Instead of the wife and three toddlers deserted years ago, the husband and father found the wife remarried and happy, and the three children married and contented in their own homes.
Mr. Mangus was born in this city. He was the son of Cyrus A. Mangus, aged 72, of 500 Twenty-fifth avenue and was employed in the Pennsy car shops for many years. He was married twenty-three years ago, and helped to rear three children. When the oldest was aged 7 Mr. Mangus packed his belongings and left Altoona. Where he went, or why he departed, was never known, and no trace of the missing man could be found. Altoona lodgemen spent almost a year in the search.
Mrs. Mangus raised the three children in her own home, and, after waiting eight years after her husband's departure, was remarried, taking for granted that Mr. Mangus had died. The three children were reared and were all married during the past few years.
Mr. Mangus, on his visit east, did not come directly to Altoona. He alighted from a Pennsy train at the East Altoona station. He was welcomed at the home of his brother, Thomas N. Mangus, 613 East Sixth avenue, Juniata, on his arrival. He remained there two days before he visited his father at the Twenty-fifth avenue home.
While visiting his father, the three children of Mr. Mangus were sent for. They came to the grandfather's house entirely ignorant of the surprise that awaited them. Not one of the children recognized their father as they were too small at the time of his leaving, to remember him. The father did not pay a visit to the home of his former wife.
Mr. Mangus remained in the city with his father and departed early this week without stating where he would locate. He is expected, however, that he will resume his travels in the west.
The three children of the modern Enoch Arden are Lee Mangus of Twenty-fourth avenue and Eleventh street; Ralph Mangus of 1415 Seventh street and Mrs. Nellie Wolf of Eighth street, near Lexington alley. The former Mrs. Mangus is now Mrs. Clarence Manning of 1415 Seventh street. The couple were married seven years ago.

I have sent two request to link Ellen with her mother Rosanna Gilmartin McClain and they have been declined with reason - General reason: Content submitted does not belong in this data field. I am adding her mother's Find A Grave # 175123297 in the parent section under mother. Where do you want me to add it? TB

Since you created the Joseph Fatigante records I wanted to let you know his wife Ruth passed Dec 22, 2016 in Altoona. Actually she died on her birthday. She was born Dec 22, 1919. Just for your reference my husband is related to the Fatigante family.
