Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always been interested in family history, asking questions since I was a little girl. I took a genealogy class at church, and that was when my life changed forever. I was introduced to the computer, and the internet.
I have found people I didn't know. I found out their life stories, some of which really surprised and at times shocked me. I have also found living cousins who share my passion or a better word now is addiction.
I have also met some wonderful friends.

But, with the good comes the bad. I have also met some really mean people too. And, in this wonderful business of searching out and preserving our family history, this makes me sad.

I do want to point out, that I appreciate all of the volunteers who have created these memorials, and the volunteers who take and post photos on this site. As in anything worthwhile, it really does take a village. We cannot do all of this alone.

With that said, I am not interested in having memorials of people I am not in some way related to, or do not know. I only want to manage family, which includes extensions of my family, and a few friends.

If I have a duplicate, it was NOT created on purpose. If I am aware of one, I try to rectify that, and ask for cooperation, not a power struggle over "ownership". To me, that is either silly, or selfish.

I have added info and edited quite a few memorials, and I appreciate all the help I have received.
I always leave a flower on their memorials, out of love, respect, and as a reminder that I was there to provide correct information and family links.

My core family names are:
Paternal:White,Sarvis,Kay,Little, Heffner.
Maternal: Deicken, Hellweg, Walkenhorst, Kemner.

I am willing to share information with other family members within reason.
I have had people ask for a GEDCOM file or a copy of my tree, and I am not willing to do that.
I think if people are truly interested in their family history, they would want to experience the research to get a feel for the family, not just the info to transfer onto a file or tree.

If I can be of help to anyone, please ask.
Carol Lynn

Esther May (Graham) Smith #36525504
Hello Carol,

Would you please remove the wedding photo of my great-grandmother Esther, with her husband and son, my aunt Janet (Bud's Wife) is still living. And I would like to add other photos of my grandmother to her memorial. Thank you! I just received a ton of photos of my family and am scanning them and adding them to the memorials.

Marshall Harper
Can you tell me if your Marshall Harper fought for the Confederacy? The reason I am asking is there is a M Harper who died at the Battle of Olustee, Ocean Pond Florida 2/20/1864. His name is on a plaque on a Monument downtown Lake City, Florida. Thanks

Bertha DeJong-Ralph Comstock
Carol Lynn,
I'm researching a family tree for an aunt. Her step father was Ralph Comstock who first married Bertha DeJong.

The marriage record of Bertha from Ancestry has her birth place as Pella, Iowa, and lists her parents as Martin G DeJong and Henrietta Verros.

I'm trying to prove if the Martin Gysbert DeJong, 107757574 and Henrietta Johanna Verros DeJong in the New Sharon Friends Cemetery are the same people mentioned as Bertha's parents in her marriage record.

Bertha Comstock's find a grave memorial is 75912715.

Is Bertha in the photo you posted for Henrietta's memorial?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. I am Dorothy "Patty" Deicken's cousin. I published a Bales genealogy back in 2002. I have just recently decided to update the data so was searching for additional information on our grandmother Vernice Bales (Lowder), and along the way stumbled upon add'l info on findagrave you posted. I don't know how we are related, but thanks for the fine work you have done. I really enjoy the photos. If you are interested in my research, email me at

Question about Starling Wilson White
Starling Wilson White is my Grandfather's father. (great grandpa I guess.) He has been my dead end for a while now. I am wondering if you have documentation for Starling's Parents?

William Chandler
I got your message and thank you for your comments. I am unsure how Mary got in the mix as my own information has Easter "Hetty" Cassidy as his wife. That's what I get for copying the information from old family records! lol There is no Mary. The corrections have been made. Two sets of eyes are better than one!
