Bio and Links
Bio Photo My philosophy about F/G is really quite simple. Treat me like you want yourself to be treated. Very simple. If I see a memorial that I'd like to have transferred to me, I'll simply ask for it. Likewise, if you see a memorial I've submitted that you'd like to have transferred to you, just ask for it. I could care less if the person is related to you, or not. If you want it, and there's no reason for me to keep it, you can have it. It's just that simple. I do this because I love it. A lot of people just don't have the time to do this. In reality, I have no connection to at least 90% of the memorials I submit. I submit them because no one else has.

Like all of us, there are some memorials I won't transfer. But, the only time I won't transfer a memorial is when the person is in one of my direct ancestry lines, my aunts, uncles, a few cousins, and a handful of friends I hold dear to my heart. As for the information I post, feel free to use any info I submit. You do not need my permission. That's why I put it on here in the first place.

If I request a memorial to be transferred to me, it is usually a direct ancestor, or a very close aunt, uncle, or cousin. On rare occasions, I may even request a memorial of a very dear friend. The only deviation from this is that from time to time I may request the memorial transfer of a Confederate soldier, if it's apparent the soldier is probably not related to the submitter. But, no matter who's memorial I request, I always stipulate, "unless this person is your relative." However, if you don't want to make the transfer, at least give me a good reason why you won't. But, please, don't completely ignore me. That's just being rude.

And, please, if you're going to take the time to create a new cemetery, make sure you have the correct name, provide the complete address, accurate written directions, and the correct map. It doesn't take much time, and can ensure future submissions are added to the right cemeteries.

Otherwise, I have been researching my family genealogy for over thirty-five years. I have published three books so far, Confederate Graves of Emanuel County, Georgia, in 2009, a color edition of the book in 2010, and The Ridgdill Genealogy in 2011. All are available online at

Thank you for your cooperation. God bless.

I don't think I know Charlotte Martin. My husband's Martin family were from Lafayette, GA so probably not related.

RE: Lena Mae Godfrey Smith #175421369
I talked with Lena's cousin and she said she didn't know if Lena graduated from high school or not. I found her obituary on and her date of birth was 2/21/1954 so if she did graduate I would assume it would be 1973. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If you don't mind me asking, what is your maiden name? Just wondering if I know you.

I am not sure of the exact year she graduated but I do know that she went to Washington County High. I graduated in 1966 and I was a few years ahead of her just don't know for sure how many. She was from Oconee, GA. Hope this helps. If not I can ask one of her cousins who is a good friend of mine.

Mike and Nancy,
This is a duplicate of 28002071 originally created by Susan Barwick on July 2,2008,now maintained by Wally.
Yours has all the correct information.
Maybe you can combine. Just thought I'd let you now.

Mike, sorry to message you again so soon but I have a friend who honored a K9 officer you may be interested in adding to your virtual. I think it's awesome you have done this and since very few honors are done... wanted to share with you - Eros. If not, no worries. Just a thought as my memory was triggered.

RE: Barbara Grace Faglier - 179104137
Yes sir, time does go by fast. Ok, memorial transferred and it is indeed a small world for us to make contact. Melissa & Micheal (Yes, unusual spelling but correct) are good friends of ours. We initially met Bobby & Grace thru them and during the difficult period of losing baby Mary Grace from a heart defect. The loss of Arthur Jr and the Indianapolis incident makes me cringe to this day. Your so right... tragic

Mike, I have messaged you before just saying hi a few years ago after realizing you were also a f.a.grave manager here online but perhaps you missed my message. But I miss ya my friend and hope all is well. Reason I'm messaging this time is an acquaintance of ours recently passed this past week, Barbara Grace and I just completed her memorial online if you wish for me to transfer --as I think she is a cousin of yours? Her son & daughter in law (mike & Melissa) are friends of ours. Let me know... Jerry

RE: William Freeman
I've deleted a photo so that you may add one. Jack and I used to work together on our photographs - just to let you know - Jack passed away late last year - so we are no longer able to do so. I miss him. Another tip - if you have a family member that you'd like to have more than the five photos, you can "sponsor" the memorial page and add up to 20. It's only $5. Thanks for the nice request!
