Hi,
I am a family researcher that concentrates primarily on the Bias-Byas-Byus family that began with James Byass/Byas c.a 1722 and his wife Elizabeth in Amherst County, Virginia. That was my dad's side of the family and I became enthralled with the research, the many many branches, and the variety of personalities that developed. The expansion of generations, geographic locations, and variety of achievements throughout time.

We have ministers, doctors, poloticians, farmers, railroad men, coal miners, thieves and even a couple of murders. But most of all, when we had the need, our men and women turned out in vast numbers to serve the nation.

Many of the males married multiple times and so some of the numbers of children were staggering.

I only wish I had started sooner so I could have shared all of this with my dad....he always tried to talk me into the task.....But then why would I want to spend all that time trying to find "dead people?"

Well that changed...so now I walk cemeteries in person and online. I chase records and distant cousins to expand the 26,000 data base I have for te descendants of James and Elizabeth (??) Byass/Byas of those early days in VA.

It is my passion!

RE: Maria Eliz. Kohl Will
Carrie, Yes I would love to share information. Do you have a tree on Ancestry? And yes, that is a pet peeve of mine, too. I'm sure I've done that before, though.

RE: Maria Eliz. Kohl Will
Carrie,
My mom's maiden name is Will. Maria Eliz. Kohl is the wife of Hieronymus Will, my 5th great uncle. Thanks for fixing the birth year. Lin

Maria Eliz. Kohl Will
Hi Carrie, just wondering if you could check on the birth year of Maria Elizabeth (Kohl) Will buried at Huffs Union Church Cem. You have her birth year as 1782 which would have made her 5 years old when her daughter was born. Thanks. Lin

Bias info
Hi Carrie, so nice to hear from you again. I added the info you sent to Permelia's memorial. Thanks for sending. Happy Spring, ....or Winter...or whatever this crazy weather wants to be. There was a memorial for Nealy's son Charles in another Bias Cemetery across the road but for some reason the memorial has been removed. ??? There is still a cemetery listed with some photos of stones with no burials. ?
