Keep hearing a voice that says,
"Grieve Not For Me"
Remember the best times, the laughter the songs,
The good life I lived where I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you
Keep smiling and surely the sun will
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest,
Remembering all now, I was truly blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your life, don't stare at the wall.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin
Until the day comes, when we're together again.

What do you want? Do you want this transferred to you?

Thank You for taking the time to go to the cemetery and take the pictures of my Great Grandfathers grave for me. I do not know why the stone is unmarked or if his plot was donated at his death but I will call the cemetery office and see if they have an answer. Again thank you for the gift of my Great Grandfather. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. Have a wonderful day!

My apologies, I guess there is no headstone. The office said they did not know. I'm sorry. Thank you again!

I can't tell if it's the same cemetery. This is all I know: On January 8, 1902 the Philadelphia Inquirer published a notice on page 6 that at the request of the Union ME Church 2500 bodies buried at the old Union Cemetery located at Tenth Street and Washington Avenue were being moved to Arlington Cemetery in Delaware County, PA. I found the reference to the sale of the cemetery land in Charles R. Barker's A Register of the Burying Grounds of Philadelphia, 5 volumes. It was in Volume 1, p 133 that I found a reference to Deed Book WSV 73 page 190 with a date of sale of the cemetery land of July 1, 1902. I may have found the Barker information at either the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP) or the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania (GSP) both location in Philadelphia.
Dear Floral Designer- thank you so very much for taking a much-better picture of my father's gravestone (including my grandparents') Wm. J. Nolan, Jr.! My sister was very upset when she took that blurry picture. I am not able to travel up to NYC now. I cannot tell you how touched I am by your kindness.
I am also sorry for not saying something sooner- I have been so busy moving, etc. You are a blessing.
Much appreciation. Mary E. Nolan

I was friendly with Mary Linda Luhr who was related to the florist. She moved to Florida later in life and would be 68 or 69. She was two years behind me in school. Small world!
