Duplicates at Forsythe-Feathengill
Mrs Gantt,

You have been notified on at least two other occasions about the duplicate memorials at this cemetery. Please remove them as per the Find a Grave rules. Creating duplicates creates confusion when researching, and also when photo requests are made. Please follow the rules and delete all the duplicates here.
Thank You

RE: Memorial# 60283220. Mary Birch
I connected Mary Birch with her husband, Alfred Birch. Many years ago, I crossed paths with Alice Courtney. I would be interested in exchanging Birch details with Mr. Gantt. Not sure who Myrtle is.

RE: Memorial# 60283220. Mary Birch
I am distantly related to her husband, Alfred Birch.
Disregard my request to transfer, I did not realize you are also related. Do you mid if I ask how you are related? Jim Birch

Mitchell, IN
Well, yes I need some research in depth in Mitchell, but I think I am closer.

I have never been there, but Google knows the way!

I have a problem that only some newspaper research can solve. Thank goodness they called it "local news" instead of gossip. I have found so much that way, but it sure does take a bit of time to read through the other stuff.

Thank you for all of the information and links, I really appreciate it very much.

Memorial# 90242609David P Forsyth
Hello - I just went to read up on the day's events.

I copied your message so you would know th epoint of reference - I actually know of the person who posted under "Orphan"; I see his liting in Seymour, IN area often.

I sent a message after I realized the duplication and he contacted me in email to say he was glad that something had been found and he removed his memorial, even though I offered to transfer to him and let him edit as he wished.

I thought that was pretty nice. He just listed graves that seemed alone and without any further information.

In the Daviess County newspapers online there is a TON more information on this family.

I listed his obituary because I was impressed at the amount of information! (And jealous.)

I went and took the pic and posted it... However... Your Memorial# 90242609 is actually a duplicate to Memorial# 40008393. Technically, the other memorial was created first and should be recognized as the memorial. What I would do is delete yours and send that memorial owner the information you have obtained and see that they update the original memorial. If they do not update theirs within 30 days with the information you have obtained, you can send the request to Find A Grave and they can get it updated. I know you have put a lot of effort into yours and believe me, I have made the same mistake several times myself. Like I stated, this is just my suggestion per the guidelines of Find A Grave policies... :)
By the way... There were no other Forsyth(e)(s) in the area to take...

Hello again,

Thank you again for the lovely photo. You must stay up late also!

I have put kids, cat and dog to bed and so I can (finally) have some quiet time and THINK!

Somedays the circus comes to town and just stays and stays!

Anyhow, thank you again, very much. I appreciate it and hopefully someone who IS a relative of these persons will find their kin.

David P. Forysthe

Thank you so much - it looks like soon the monument won't be legible, you took a great photo.

I just put in a photo request for his wife Mary, hers is Find A Grave Memorial# 40008395, and the spelling is different.

I appreciate very much you going back to find these persons.

David P. Forsythe - Greenlawn Cemeterey
Hello Samantha,

I didn't know if you wanted to give it another go or not, but I am very glad you are doing this.

Thank you very much. IF you are a history geek for Daviess County, IN there is a free site from INGenWeb to view old Daviess County newspapers. That is where I saw the obituary for David P. Forysthe and many other members of his family.

I am not related at all, but his obituary was so detailed, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to post the obituary, it was so good.

David P. Forsythe - Greenlawn Cemeterey
Hello - You were the original contributor who was kind enough to make the effort to try and find David P. Forsythe.

I think the problem was in the spellings of the name. Here is the email received from the cemetery and I am going to make another request, I just wanted to let you know.

Many thanks for helping to find David!

Gaye Hill

Ms. Hill, I have located the grave of David P. Forsyth who was born on 8/27/1828 and died on 4/3/1915. I have not gone out to verify that there is a stone and that if it exists that it is legible. I will do that this afternoon and confirm, but according to our documentation………….there should be a stone. I have also found two other David Forsyth(e)s. There are two David A. Forsythe's. One has the spelling as Forsythe and the other with Forsyth. They are buried within the same lot appearing to be family? The first David A. Forsythe was born 4/24/1889 and died 7/24/1950. He was listed as a Civil War veteran. The second David A. Forsyth does not have a date of birth listed, but the date of death is listed as 1/18/1918. A Tennie P. Forsythe is buried next to the David A. Forsythe that died in 1918 and she is listed as his wife. There is also a Martha Forsyth Leuck with d.o.b. as 1/3/1900 & d.o.d. as 11/17/1924 buried by David A. Forsythe who died in 1950. don't know if I'm giving you more information than you wanted, but hopefully it will be useful to you. I am very excited to get the obituary and information you have on David P. I will document all of that in our records and scan the obituary and include it, too. If you have any pictures that you care to email of him I can put them in the file as well. Do you know if one of the David A. Forsythe's could have been David P.'s father? Thanks for all the information! Julie Parsley
