I've been researching my family genealogy for a quite a few years now and it's become one of my passions. |
I've found cemeteries to be such a valuable resource for genealogical information and have lengthened the branches of my family tree - thanks to physically visiting cemeteries and by 'virtually' visiting cemeteries on this site.
I hope that by recording graves in the cemeteries that I visit will help others. Feel free to use my headstone photos for your research and give credit (my name or a link to the memorial page).
I worked very hard to add these graves and photos to this site. I am more than happy to add any additional information to any memorial. If you are requesting a transfer, please make sure that it is within guidelines (they are a direct relative within four generations). Also, please make the transfer request through the "edit" tab on the memorial page.
Obituaries: Please note that according to the Guidelines, it is against policy to copy and paste obituaries word for word onto memorial pages. Any works published since 1923 are under copyright. I will not make these edits.
Quote from Help with FindAGrave: "Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
Do not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary."

|Southern Muse||William Parker - Memorial 18141425|
Hi, if William Franklin Parker is your direct line, I have found some info that may help. There is a second, very brief, death notice in the |North Georgia Citizen| (Dalton, Whitfield, Georgia), 18 July 1895, page 4, stating that "Will Parker" died in Atlanta on Sunday (which would have been the 14th). That article mentions his wife as "Miss Mamie Cummings." Using that info., I found the marriage of W.F. Parker, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mary Hall Cummings, of Maysville, Kentucky. They married 7 June 1892 in Maysville, Mason, Kentucky, at the home of J.T. ?Straite? Both bride and groom were 22 years old, and this was the first marriage for each. W. F. Parker was a traveling salesman.

I am going to request that your memorial, along with the cemetery information be deleted as it is duplicate.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GRid=41551522&CRid=2321513& is the correct one. I personally walked through and photographed everything 8 years ago.

|Bobbie O'Barr||Your photo in Rock Branch BC cemetery|
You have added a photo to the wrong memorial in Rock Branch cemetery. The photo is of the headstone for Ella Richardson. There are two "Ella Richardsons" in this cemetery.
You added the photo to memorial #52711734. It should have been added to memorial #52727147. The dates on the headstone verify this. Please correct, thanks. -Bobbie
Hi, you created memorials and photos for a family of four in Westview, section 13. Their names are Eva, J. M., Hattie, and Elizabeth Carroll. I'm not quite sure how they are related, although it seems as though Elizabeth is the mother of J. M. If you know about this family, could you link them together?

|Lisa Brown||William P. Cosby & Family Photo|
I am of no relation to this family and want nothing from this except to give out the information in hopes this makes it back to its family. Anyway,my husband and I recently were at a local antique store in Auburn and found a photo of the William P. Cosby Family in front of a large house, there are 4 young men on the porch, and the following are all in front of a picket fence in front of the house: a middle aged woman in front of the fence in front of the house, a young girl & an older lady sitting in a chair, an older man sitting in a chair and 2 men who appear to be in their 20's standing by him. It was taken in 1895 and is in good condition. The names of the family are written on the back and are as follows:
Mr.& Mrs. W.P. Cosby
printed on the front underneath the photo on the left is AMERICAN VIEW 00, in the middle is the date 1895 then on the right is BLACKSBURG, S.C.
I did a search for a couple of the family members on ancestry and it says they lived in Bens Smith, Gwinnett County, GA, Hog Mountain, Gwinnett and there is a census of them in Auburn, Barrow County, GA.
If anyone is interested in this photo you can contact the owner at Frank's Consignment in Auburn, GA, the number is 678-508-9603 and his email is franskconsignment@yahoo. We just met the owner & were talking to him about genealogy and how it was our hobby to find lost photos/bibles/items & help get them back to families & he showed us the photo. I don't know how much the photo is, you'd have to ask Frank. You can also tell him that it was Mark & Lisa Brown who gave you the information. I hope this finds a home !

I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published. If it is ok to use your photos, could you also give me your first and last name for the captions?
