Because of fires, floods and loss, I started photographing all the markers in Jackson Co Michigan in Nov 2006. We've discovered the 1927 DAR WPA cemetery transcription project didn't have anyone actually walk any of the county cemeteries. They obtained the information from cemetery records, church records and neighbors. Fortunately for all of us this included records of those graves with no markers. Most of the early cemetery records have perished along with some of the cemeteries. Hopefully, we will be able to provide info for descendants of the early/current residents of Jackson County Michigan. By using census, marriage, death and local history information we try to make our entries as complete as possible. Email with info on your ancestors and we'll add them to any of our records. We'll be happy to help you in your search.

Currently, I'm working on adding maiden names to as many memorials as possible.

For those of you who didn't discover findagrave until recently, please understand the original instructions were to add no periods after initials as it took up space in the database. It's really not necessary to add them now.

Please request edits, corrections & transfers thru the SAC tab (edit tab on the memorial page) and not here on the home page. Remember to check the new "edit" tab on your own homepage to see the corrections/additions sent to you.

Thanks to all those FAGer's who have trusted me to take care of their memorials and have transferred their memorials over to me while they take a leave from findagrave.

If you're requesting a transfer of a memorial over to you, please go to that person's page and send the request through the edit function. Leaving a message on the profile page will be deleted. I just don't have time to go back and forth between numbers.
