Bio Photo I am an automobile racing historian specializing in the history of that sport in Kansas although I've also dabbled in genealogy for more than 30 years. I am also interested in the history of Cowley County, Kansas and its people.

Find A Grave Memorial# 157486758

Some one has mistakenly assumed that the Joseph and Rebecca Showalter Parks buried in the Elliot cemetery, Livingston County, Missouri are Joseph and Rebecca Beigh Park. There is a Joseph Maxwell and Rebecca Beigh Park from Ohio. Our Joseph and Rebecca are from Pennsylvania and moved to Indiana and then to Missouri where they died. You can follow both families on the Federal census' in each of their home states. Joseph Maxwell Park died 1 Mar 1864 and is buried in Nashville National Cemetery. Rebecca died in 1899 in Ohio.
Isophine Park Shingogle is the daughter of the Pennsylvania Joseph and Rebecca Showalter Park. This Joseph's parents are Joseph Park (d. 1838 buried in Isaac Grove Farm, Horseknob, Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania) and Anne Beaver (d.1863 buried White Church, Grafton, Pennsylvania).

Mable Josephine (Orebaugh) McCaslin
Just wanted to say "Thank so much!" for your memorial #148508868. My grandfather's 2nd cousin, Willis H McCaslin showed up in the 1930 and 1940 census married to a "Josephine", but it would have taken much more trouble than it was worth to me to find out more about her. They had no children, so it's not like any descendants were going to ever figure it out.

Willis apparently returned to New Castle, PA after Josephine died. That was where his parents were from and where he grew up (he was born in KS, but moved there when he was 2). He died in 1946, and is buried there with his parents, which is undoubtedly why his death date was never updated on this marker. Thanks for the photo, too!!

RE: Margaret
Have you taken a DNA test? I have and I have been linked to some of Tobias Phillips legitimate kids. For years I was hopefull that Tobias wasn't the father of her kids but the DNA test results say it's true.

Hi Bob my name is Aaron Lawrence and I'm also a direct "Lawrence" dissident of Margaret Peggy Lawrence. It's nice to know there is another out there.

Ann W. Irelan
Hi Bob,
You and others on ancestry.com suggest that Ann passed away on Sept. 30 but the obituary indicates Oct. 1. Due to the discrepancy I only listed the year.

I don't know what is going on either, but I apparently missed the earlier memorial. I will delete mine. Thanks for the info!
