I have been an amateur genealogist for many decades, and never tire of it. Puzzles challenge me. Guess it is the "thrill of the chase". I especially delight in helping beginners get started. |
Surnames I am researching and their primary locations:
New England and midwest: Hunt, Baldwin, Bigelow, Collins, Rose, Adams, Burket(t), French, Plant
Virginia/North Carolina: Campbell, Collins
Ohio and Oklahoma - Klintworth, Scherer, Schuler, Schultheis
Kentucky, Tennessee and beyond: Adkins/Atkins, Bertram (aka Butram, Buttram, Butrum, Buttrum, etc.), DeRossett/DuRossett, Brown (from ancestor Michael Brown of TN & KY, circa 1800-1858), Adkins, Owen(s), Rigney, Stinson, Shelton.
Missouri and Kentucky - Collins, Nations
I would love to hear from anyone else researching these names.

|Cris Brown||Thank for the information on Lafayette Bertram|
I have added your information to his bio per your suggestion crediting you, and thank you for the submission.
|Jim Martin||RE: Edgar Anderson|
I am not certain of where and when they divorced, I would assume it was in Attica. My wife (one of their daughters) was cut off from the family during that period because we started legal proceedings to have the remaining daughters removed from the home. My wife's mother blamed her and would not have contact with her until around the 1989 - 1990 time period.
|Joe Stephens||John Dunn|
John Dunn is buried at Knox County Potter's Field. That is what county means on the death certificate.
|Patricia Capps||Corrections to Joe. W. Hunt|
I am researching my family and found some errors on your entry of Joe W. Hunt and Flora Boren Anthony Hunt. They were my great grandparents.
They had two daughters Pansy (June 9, 1892 - July 23, 1909) and Faith (July 29, 1889 - February 14, 1970). Flora died at my Faith's house in Columbus, MS. From what I can find Joe, Flora, and Pansy are buried in the Anthony Cemetary in Allen County, KY.
I am still looking for burial documentation. My dates come from my mothers and grandmothers notes.
Feel free to contact me at email@example.com
My mother was Flora Patricia Saunders Jaeger.
I am Patricia Faith Jaeger Capps.
|Anthony Buttrum||Bertram, Butram, Buttram, Buttrum|
Hi Anna, Anthony Buttrum here from the White County Buttrum line. Just wondering if you have come across any connections from any of your lines to Pat Buttram #1802 in Alabama. (Mr. Haney from Green Acres, among other roles). Looks like Find a grave has extensive information on his parents and siblings from Alabama.
Feel free to message me back on here or by email at Anthony.Buttrum@gmail.com.
Thanks. Hope you are doing well.
|Jack Hunt||RE: Minnie May Buttrum and Charles Thomas|
Hi, Thanks for responding. Yes, of course, the step-granddaughter would belong to Charles. You're right. I should have known that.
Sorry, different Hunts. Mine go from Maryland, through Kentucky and into Sullivan County, Indiana where they stayed for generations.
|Cathie Zimmer Ross||Shared Ohio Ancestors|
I am doing my family genealogy and have discovered that we share common ancestors in Ohio. If I tracked this correctly, going backward from you, your line is:
you--> Willliam Schultheis Jr --> William Schultheis Sr --> Anna Marie Frison Schultheis --> Theresia Mary Foark Frison --> Catherine Hammer Foark --> Joseph Hammer
Does that look right?
My line is:
me --> Marie Granger Zimmer --> Gertrude Conway Granger --> Viola Hammer Conway --> Daniel Hammer --> Joseph Hammer
That makes us 4th cousins once removed!
I live in central Ohio and have been to the graves of Elizabeth Lark Hammer (married to joseph) and Theresia Frison.
Also I have a family picture of Daniel Hammers family and there are other family members in it, although I don't know who they are. Feel free to contact me if you like. Cathie
|Michelle White||Sarah Franklin Bertram|
Anna, I just wanted you to know I added a photo of Sarah Franklin Bertram to her memorial. I just acquired it today. #101950176 Michelle
|Cindy Ricks||RE: Russell Warren Scranton|
You're welcome. I'm sorry it's not the best picture -- I uncovered it as much as I could, but the grass is growing over it.
By the way, Russell's brother Frederick is buried next to him, and I added a picture of his grave marker too. I also submitted an edit to add their parents to his memorial.
|Margaret Bertram Ramsey Simkins||thank you|
I just discovered this site by accident today, and I just want to say thank you for the hours of work and expertise you have provided to make this so special to me and others. Love you! --margaret bertram simkins
