I started doing photo inventories of cemeteries in St. Lawrence county NY in 1999 and have close to 200 cemeteries inventoried on my home page (see link below). I copied the inventories to find-a-grave and am uploading the photos here. If you find a photo on my website that you would like uploaded here, please send me an email or leave me a message and I'll be happy to add them. |
I lived most of my life in the Washington DC area where I took photos at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) from 2007-2015. I now live in Colorado but but still visit ANC when I can to take photos. However, I no longer claim requests due to stalking and harassment from a couple other volunteers. I hope to regain the feeling of dignity and serenity that I used to have when I walked into the cemetery. It is one of the most honorable, respectful, and to me, sacred locations in the world. I am still (as of 2017) trying to keep the listing of interments in Arlington National Cemetery up to date on FindAGrave, despite my efforts being monitored, critiqued and disparaged by one of the other volunteers.
Let me know if you would like to take-over management of any listings I manage for your family/friends. I generally honor such requests, but please realize that edits can be made by using the edit tab on the memorial without any need for transfer of management. While in the past I never turned down a transfer request, recent actions on some of my transferred memorials have caused me to occasionally decline. I may decline when the requester republishes recent obituaries without permission from the publisher (in violation of item 3 of the site "Terms of Service"), creates duplicate or burial unknown memorials (in violation of the site rules), or adds inappropriate biographies which to me include biographies that are NOT about the person, but solely about their husband, ancestors, graphic details of their death, or only about the history of the plane/ship/etc they served on.

HAH! The memory returns...
Yes - he was Mary Texanna Loomis' husband, for a while, at least. Divorced March 1917. He apparently had a replacement lined up - Married Oct 1917 to Gertrude I. (Pollard) Howard. I can imagine the conversation 100 years ago: "Really? My sister's name is Gertrude...".
Also, Google has scanned a number of genealogical books, all written 'way back' when the info was contemporary, and found Turner's parents.
Mary Texanna - was a helluva character. Too much woman for him, I guess.
So: "YES!" thank you - your photo did wonders to jog my memory...
Anne, I cannot thank you enough for doing this. Tearfully appreciative, Jan

Well, I've submitted links to for Turner E and Gertrude M (Howard) Livermore to be connected to their parents.
I must've been searching for someone else. Nice to connect 'em up on Findagrave, though - might help someone else. I wonder if it was Gertrude P. (?) Howard I was looking for...
Best to you (again)

Thank YOU very much for the photo.
Now, unfortunately, I'll have to go back in my notes & figure out why I requested it. I'm drawing a complete blank - sometimes I do these over lunch and I get all involved and way deep down a family tree and I forget why & how I even got there.
I'll try & link Turner & Gertrude to their parents, if I can find 'em.
I've been doing a bunch of work over in WikiTree and the only Turner E. Howard there was born 1867, DeKalb, GA / 1933 Augusta, GA.
Best to you...
|Pat Shaw||Theadore Williams|
Am sorry I made an incorrect connection for Hannah Williams, she was not the wife of Theadore and not the mother of Elza Williams....I am trying to delete the links to Hannah and am not able to do so even tho I have her memorial. I found the correct Williams she married on a marriage licence and her maiden was Cox. Can you help me please?
