|My father's mother was Esther Marion MacInnis Armstrong's sister. My father is buried in the MacInnis family plot, Locust Grove Cem, Merrimac MA, twenty paces from the Major's marker.|

|Karen Krantzberg||RE: Laura Etta Fellows Noyes|
Hi John. No, unfortunately, I don't have a death record or any newspaper archives about her death to indicate a cause (unfortunately, she died in Maine, which is a state from which getting vital records is a pain if you're not a direct relative). Ancestry has a database for Maine death records, but it currently only goes up to 1922.
I will keep my eyes open, though, and let you know if I find anything. and please let me know if you do.
Laura was the half-sister of my 2x great-grandmother Lizzie (same mother, different fathers). You're related to Alonzo?
I think I have a photo of Alonzo and Laura's daughters. Two of them became doctors too!If you'd like me to send them to you, just email me through my profile, and I'll do that.

Thanks John - I have a friend who is a radio buff who was curious as to Esther's final repose. I supected she was with the Major based ont he monument design, but had no way of confirm from my location.

Would you happen to know where Esther was buried?
|Armstrong Admirer||Correct Site|
The Merrimac location is the correct one. The obit articles do, however, list the other location. Lessing, Armstrong's first biographer ("Man of High Fidelity") cites the Merricac location in his book in 1956. Armstrong and his wife Marion were married in Merricac and Marion grew up there with her family. The location is not far from the Armstrong home in Rye Beach, NH. If his burial site was moved from NY to MA Lessing does not mention it.
IT IS NOT to much to ask for accuracy, but how ever I do have news paper listings as his place of burial from his obits, as WOODLAWN Bronx NY, I was courious if he was taken there after his burial to woodlawn NY I will call both places and ask if he is buried before I list his resting place. That way for sure my information is correct. If you prefer me to send you a copy of these listings I shall. IF I can not find out for sure his resting place I will delete his memorial. accuracy is of most importance to me and to everyone else that is on Find A Grave. It does become very trying where there are conflicting accounts.I have not been to his resting site, but have much respect for him and will make a very every effort to correct this information. |AMMNY||Thank you for the information|
I have corrected the information that I had listed.I did see two locations for this name and I am not certain of the county in which it is located. If it is wrong I will change it again. I am sorry that I left you feeling troubled with the wrong information. I happen to be a fan of his and did not see him listed, therefore I took the effort to list his name. I appreciate your e mail as information on all people that have passed is very impotent so that they will not be forgotten and everyone can locate the resting places of these great people.
