rosa penn
I went to the cemetary and was not able to find a headstone for Rosa Penn. In looking at the burial records it shows several names around her site that is listed for her. I did take a pic of the site and posted it. I hope this helps.

RE: Solomon Shepherd
Morning Joy
I was wondering how you are connected to the Spilman Family. It is quite large. Since I was raised in CA I never got to know many of them. I knew 3 of my Grandmother's sisters. I met some of her Brothers when I was very young.

Lorene Beth Odle
Hi Joy: I noticed that you noted in her memorial that she was the daughter of Otto Wayne Odle. I have been working on FamilySearch and notice that her fathers name is Otto Felton Odle. She does have a brother named Wayne Felton Odle. There are a couple of sources that prove this. Thanks.

Solomon Shepherd
I was looking for a possible up date from my 2G-Grandfather (Solomon Shepherd) 1811-1901 Iowa. buried in Oakview Cemetery, Albia Iowa and found your entry in find a grave. I noted in the obit you provided there is a typo. He and My 2nd G-GM were married in 1835, however the date in the obit is 1935. Since so many people are now using Find a Grave entries as documentation I though you might want to correct it.

Stoner Family
Hi Joy, I'm in the process of updating all my relatives with my recent research. Are you related to Oliver Stoner #7753061 and Esther Stoner #7753069. I was wondering if you would be willing to transfer them to me if they aren't related to you. They are my 2nd great grandparents. Hope you have a blessed day.

confusions with 2 Nancy Shepherds
There were two women in my family named Nancy Shepherd. One (My 2nd Great Aunt) who's full name was Nancy Ann Shepherd [Spinks]and who's parents were Asa Shepherd and Margaret Lou Baker, She was born 29 Nov 1845 In Putnam Co., IN and who died 10 Jul 1932, in Albia, Monroe Co., IA.

The other is Nancy Susanna Shepherd [Clark][Golden]
My Great Grandmother who was the daughter of Solomon Shepherd and Susanna McGill who was born
7 Jan 1856 in Monroe Co., IA and Died 12 Nov 1932, Albia, Monroe Co IA.
If you check the present entry for Nancy Shepherd Spinks it has a bio that is incorrect and is actually for her niece Nancy S. Shepherd Golden.
I have attempted to contact Joy, but for some reason I have not been able to access her e-mail.
These two women have been confused all over Ancestry and My Charts have been incomplete for years because of it.

Another Samuel now linked
I just got "another Samuel" you mentioned on Charles and Margaret (McClure) Slavens memorial pages linked to them as parents. Now it feels better. The Slavens book that belonged to my mother-in-law has been circulated through the family, and I could not access it for help when I realized Samuel Slavens in the national cemetery with other Andrews raiders was not linked to family. His bio is really, really short, perhaps too short.
