Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been involved in genealogy for more than 50 years and enjoy all the stories I've uncovered. Find A Grave is a great genealogy tool when used correctly.

Currently, I'm researching the following families: York, Dorris, Wilbanks, Gillespie, Chastain, Beck, Baskin, just to name a few.

The majority of the memorials I manage are relatives; but I do add other non-relatives from time to time. Should you spot an error, by all means let me know through the edit tab. If I take/post photos for you, the photos are yours use them as you see fit. I'm not into numbers, my ego doesn't need stroking, and I don't own the dead (nor the living for that matter).

Please do not transfer memorials to me without asking. A question, correction, or addition I may request to your memorial does not constitute a desire to manage it, and I reserve the right to return it to you.

Finally, "thank you," to those true "Volunteers" who take time to add photographs, flowers and thoughts to memorials. It is greatly appreciated.

"Happy hunting to us all . . ."

Alex Paxton in Starkville, MS
Hi, I received your message about Alex. Paxton. I recorded the names I believe were their children, from various sources. Yes, the obit says 8 kids and I have 9 with two not located. Did one die young and not get included? I've seen it happen before, with proof. No idea. I included note with kids: "some need verification," since I was puzzled also. Best I can tell you. If you find proof that Elizabeth or Louise were not her children, please let me know. The earlier censuses did not include the relationship, so I gave them the benefit of doubt. Death records may shed some light, though it depends who was the informant.

You had been waiting a while on that, hadn't you?

I believe when I did a quick walkthrough a year or two ago to try to knock down the requests there, that one was there and I didn't find it.

I'm going through that cemetery grave by grave and just came across it today. Glad I was able to fulfill your request.

Thanks for the heads up on Emma Burdick. I corrected her birth year. Donna

You're welcome. It was taken on the semi-annual trip up to Cherokee. Quite the hilly cemetery so the name Blue Heights is appropriate. :)

Wesley Clegg York
Wesley Clegg York was my Great Great Grandfather through John C York Sr and Alma York Brady. Where did you find the information about him being in the Confederate army. His burial is listed as unknown. Could it be in the Taylorsville area

You're welcome

I've added the inscription to husband and wife.
Now that I know where the headstone is in the cemetery, I'll try and see if I can get some better shots.

Baskins of SC
Are you a descendant of the Baskins. If you are they were married into the Thomson family and we may know things to help each other. Follow the Matthew Thomson line on find a grave for more. The Thomsons came from Anderson SC.
