Bio and Links
Bio Photo Researching one's genealogy is a bit like a treasure hunt. As you learn more and more about your ancestors, surprises keep occuring. I am thankful to all the people who have taken the time to research the past. I aim to contribute as well. I am working on my Peck ancestry which goes back to Joseph and some of his immigrant sons who arrived in 1638. Other names include Vanderwerker, Van Patten, Shoup/Shoop/Schupp, McNeil, Cramer, Paine/Payne, McDougall, Lant, Reid, Reed, Campbell, Wagman, Foster, Cushman, Grandy, Bartlett, Haverly, Duesler, Snell, Wendell, Glen, Hawley, Harmon, etc. I get great satisfaction in discovering and entering these historical records, before they are lost for good. Most of my entries are in MA, RI, CT and upstate NY where I live. I am a retired HS biology and chem. teacher. I have completed 10 Earthwatch expeditions and travelled to over 60 countries. Climbing mountains is also appealing having been up Kilimanjaro, Whitney, Olympus, Rysy, Ben Nevis, Algonquin, Marcy and others. Genealogy is another fun and productive way to spend my time.
One of my great joys is to visit villages where my ancestors lived before coming to America. In 2010 I visited Hingham and Beccles, England where the paternal Pecks lived in the 1500 and 1600's. We also visited Petten, Holland for the maternal Van Pattens and Meppel, Holland for the Van Alstynes and Vanderwerkers. In 2012 I visited Scotland for the McNeils and Reids and then the Mozel River Valley in the Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany for the Shoups/Schupps and Mais lines. In 2015 we were in Scotland again at the Campbell Castle in Inverary and to the Campbell Crypt in Kilum, Scotland. 2016 took us to Norway for the Bradts, Northern Ireland for the Beatties and Largs, Scotland for the Brisbins.

RE: Cornelius Hetfield
I have a map of the cemetery I can forward if you'd like. Cornelius' stone is located in the first row that is right behind the church.

RE: Cornelius Hetfield
The gravestone was standing as of March 30 of this year, so I would assume it still is there. I do not see a record of Sarah Hetfield. Full burial records for the church begin at 1766, with any before that having been destroyed in fires. The only records of pre-1766 burials come from tombstones documented in Wheeler & Halsey's Inscriptions book (1892). There is no Sarah Hatfield/Hetfield listed in that book that is the right age or relation.

Cornelius Hetfield
I have a photograph of this stone that I will upload later today. Do you know his wife's death date, so I can check the existent records?

Thank you for the correction. Did you send an edit to the other contributor to fix on their end? Since I didn't create Anna's I cannot fix hers. Thanks again!

RE: William Duesler
Dave,
Just read your message from November!! You didn't list a Find A Grave#, so I assume he's buried in some private land so I think that's a good idea.
What would it involve and what would it cost?? We're both on social security now and don't have a lot of retirement money, but I would like to contribute something. Let me know and contact me thru my "iafelice@att.net" address. Jane

Dave, Do the photos on 42700031 Frances Cramer Mott and 42699938 Walter Mott, Prospect Hill Cemetery, appear sideways to you? They were posted by 49116391 Kristin Jorgensen. I asked Kristin to fix or remove them, but she says they don't appear sideways to her... see messages on our messages pages... If they appear sideways to you, would you please let her know? Alice

Charles and Emma Dean transfers
Transfers complete.
You asked about the picture of Emma. She lived in the Popple Creek area with my ancestors and was listed on the group photo as the driver when they went to visit relatives. The photo is dated November 27, 1941. I am not aware that I have anything of Charles.

Best!
