I am a retired nurse and am currently devoting most of my time to family research.|
I embarked on my genealogical quest over twenty five years ago. My mother died in 1988 and left behind a small treasure trove of interesting letters, post cards and newspaper clippings. The most interesting letters dated back to the Civil War. I had to know who these people were. I discovered that I am a direct and indirect descendant from about half of the first settlers in Hartford, Connecticut in 1635 (on my mother's side). I have since filled two filing cabinets with records and family files, and have over 20,000 people in my database.
The first time I walked into a cemetery and found a family name, I was hooked. I learned that most people hate cemeteries. I love them.
Most of my entries are family, or extended family. If I have made any errors, please let me know and I will correct them. If you are more closely related to any of the people I have entered, please feel free to ask for a transfer. Just click the edit tab in the upper right-hand corner of the memorial and leave me a message.

And I just saw that you had left edits on his page in Topeka cemetery. I live in Berryton, just outside Topeka, and am a volunteer at the Kansas State Historical Society's archives. Unless you already have his obit, I can look for it and send it to his page.

Thanks for the edits and the links to the info about Elizabeth Goddard. I accepted the edits, and added a note to her page in the Cherokee, Kansas cemetery. Now I'll see if I can find her husband.

I just wanted to let you know that I deleted my memorial for Joanna and put in the edits to the other memorial's owner so that they can link her to her parents. The newer one had the actual burial place and a picture so it is just easier to delete mine than try to get a merge.
Thanks for noticing the duplication.

Yes I believe you are correct.
I've checked her documents and yes 1884 are her birth records, but just to be sure I checked the person who was born right after her on the 22nd and he was born in 1884 as per his headstone which you can see on memorial #38822256
Thank you for this correction and for finding it.

Is it possible to get Ira Judd transferred to me? He is my 7th great grand uncle.
