Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi Y'all. I'm a Central Pennsylvania native living in Eastern Georgia. I'm tracking down and documenting family names including Daugherty, Sprunger, Amstutz, Updegraff (and its variations Updegrave, Uptagrafft, Updegrove, etc.). I'm also interested in family names Antes, Bixler, Bressler, Coffee, Ferree, Gillinger, Habegger, Herr, Kendig, Logan, Pennington, Rothlischberger, Williams.

I'm part of the great Pennsylvania melting pot, a descendant of Scotch-Irish, Swiss Mennonite, French Huguenots, Moravians, English, German, and Welsh ancestors. The "huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

I'm also looking for my wife's family including Devaney, Hayman, Holley, Leffler, Ricketson, Robertson, Seiter, Street, Tuemler, Williams.

I'm trying to photograph as much as possible, and create an accurate, historical record. I'll be glad to transfer non-family members. I've enjoyed getting to know my extended family members through Findagrave.

Please visit my famous relatives:

Rev Hans Herr, Jr, Swiss Mennonite Bishop, 8th Great-Grandfather. (Herr)

Glosser Plot at WLHC
I went to West Laurel Hill Cemetery to find the Glosser family. While I couldn't find the names of the people you submitted requests for, the names I did find were:

F. Elizabeth Glosser (1879-1962)
Anna M. Glosser (1870-1964)
Caroline Glosser Peeler (b. Oct. 12, 1866)
Otto F. Peeler (1865-1896)

If these names mean anything to you, I took photos of their headstones, and I will upload them to their Find A Grave Memorials upon your photo request.

Sylvester Wesley Helman #97202783
I just saw the note you left for Lauren Darm about the photo of a document she posted to Uncle Wes's findagrave memorial (#97202783).

I don't see "Helman" in the long list of surnames you are researching. But I see you do maintain one Helman memorial -- John Helman born about 1783, married to Sophia Daugherty.

Then I see that John & Sophia's son is Abel Helman, an early pioneer of Ashland, Oregon. I know of Abel because my cousin Reva, who lives in Baker City, Oregon was asked by someone in Ashland to sign a quit claim deed releasing any interest she might have in land in Ashland. This had something to do with land that Abel Helman had owned. The person said they were turning it into a park and Reva thought that was a good idea and she had no idea who Abel Helman was or if she was related. And being the very honest person she is, even if she was related, she didn't feel that she had any interest in that land.

In fact, Reva knew very little about her Helman ancestors until I met her in March 2014 and told her what I had learned. I searched and could find no relationship to Abel. Of course, it's difficult when there is little information beyond his father, John Helman. I see some trees show John's father to be Lorentz, but nothing beyond that. And the Southern Oregon Historical Society indicates that Abel's father, John, was from Germany. That I don't think is correct because the 1850 and 1860 censuses show he was born in Pennsylvania; 1870 shows him born in Maryland.

The point of all that is: I'm hoping you have more information than I do about a relationship between John Helman, Abel's father, and my Helmans. Sylvester Wesley was my great-grandmother's brother; their father was Andrew Helman; his father was George Helman; his father was George Helman. I've done a lot of research on the Helman family, in Washington, Oregon, Ohio and in Pennsylvania. I see you are from Pennsylvania, so you are probably familiar with the Helman Lilbrary in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

I imagine we are related back to the original immigrant, George Sebastian Hellman, but I don't know how. If you do know, I'd love to hear from you.

Matt really got into this one... what we think.
George dies in 8/1873 then 2 months later Mary Mullen buys a better lot(sec 4, lot 157). (sec 6 Z is working poor, where he is originally buried). We know he was removed from there, but the books dont show where he is moved to. For what ever reason, Peter is also not put on the lot card originally, but is listed as being buried there 4,157 in the books.

Then the 'first' burial is for John Difenbaugh on 11/10/1884 is listed on the lot card. (lot card typically lists the burials in the order they are done)

so the lot card looks like:
1 John D 11/10/1884
2 Catherine Casey 2/21/1886
3 John Difenbaugh 7/31/1888
4 George Mullen 8/22/1873
5 Unknown Adult
Peter F Mullen (ad) 11/9/1876
6 Mary Deafenbaugh 11/18/1901
2 Ellen Carey 7/11/1903

So there are some possible assumptions
Mary M is the same as Mary D,
Catherine is the SIL of Ellen? or related some how.
Casey is really Carey.
George is Mary M first Husband or is related some how?
John D(1888) is 2nd husband
John D (1884) is step son

Know is only Ellen and Mary D are sisters and their maiden name is McGee.

Good Luck

RE: Gengenbach Photos
There is no marker for him but it's possible he's buried in the plot next to her. You may want to call Oak Lawn and ask. If he's somewhere else, I will gladly run over and get more pictures for you.
