Thank you for all that you do!! Victoria Adams Find A Grave#44337619 is NOT BURIED in Nuuanu Memorial Park*** She is buried in Makiki Cemetery***Find A Grave#138606227. Do you think the duplicate graves can be merged???
This is very confusing to someone just starting their genealogy*** If we don't know where someone is buried then we do an unknown burial*** We do not make a memorial in a cemetery that other family members are buried...And If you do that please put a note on the memorial***
I Am Not New to Genealogy but feel for those who are!! I remember when I first started...!!!
Smiles of Aloha, Gloria

Your photos are very nice (went and looked at others in Union Cem). : ) Good job!
Personally, I like closeups! so your Beaver family photograph should be awesome! : )
Something that works wonders for me? If in a cemetery like Brentwood with a ton of sun? Using an umbrella cuts out the sun and get an awesome photo. (it is also hard to see the screen on the camera with sun, so an umbrella is awesome)
If applicable, as in, if fulfilling a request for a family member who is unable to visit themselves? I maybe take two photos showing the surrounding area (ie: if extra pretty, if in a row with other family members, if there is some reason to have a "pan" view?). It all depends on the situation.
I normally do not have people in the photos, but if a grandson is visiting a grave (ie: Union Cemetery in Brentwood)? And if he does not mind? He might be in the photo. (see O. Beaver & F. Beaver -- and also Modesto Ramos who is the other grandparent in this cemetery: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=44867875)
I really should have a "virtual cemetery" on FindAGrave of all my best photos of graves. Some are purely on accident, but turned out awesome. I can go and find them to show you, if you want. I am a photo fanatic! It is an addiction, but at least a healthy addiction!
Since you are new to FindAGrave? (and you will soon be an addict like me if you are not already!?!? : ) I can give you tips and pointers, you know, if you want.
All I would impress upon you is, if you ever clean headstones to get a good photo? Do it safely (read my FindAGrave bio for safety tips).
I *rarely* ever need a cleaning agent to clean a headstone, but when I rarely do? I use Kodak Photo-Flo (purchased at professional camera stores, maybe in Concord?) which has NO SUDS & therefore leaves NO residue! Residue of any sort is *bad* for headstones. I have a horse brush that works great at safely whisking away dirt and lichen (Oregon, where I am right now, is terrible on stones!). I figure, if I can use it on my own face? I can use it on a headstone.
Can't wait to see the photo of Oliver and Frances!
Oh, hey, if you ever want me to put in a photo request so you can fulfill it?? I have two or three right off the bat I want in Union-Brentwood Cemetery! We have a ton of family in that cemetery so you can practice fulfilling photo requests with them, you know, if you want. : ) When I get to that neck of the woods? It is for a party, and then the time flies by. I really want to go back....but, it just never seems to happen since we often stay in the Monterey area when visiting.
I took a close up photo of Oliver and Frances Beaver. It is not nearly as neat as the ones you describe getting, I am totally new at this.
