I am a foot soldier in the cemetery documentation war. Any memorial I have created has been created while I'm standing at the grave, reading from it. NO memorial that I create comes from an obituary. If I create it, I have eyes on it.I generally cover cemeteries in the upstate of South Carolina and my process is to visit each grave in a cemetery, verify information or add to FindaGrave if missing, take a photo if it has not been photographed and tag the grave with GPS coordinates.

Feel free to contact me if you have a cemetery in the Upstate of SC that you'd like me to document. I do get requests for that from time to time and I'm generally happy to do it. Many older church cemeteries haven't been documented well. I as contacted to do one a month or so ago and we brought it from 28 documented memorials to 311. In general, counties I cover are Greenville, Anderson, Laurens, Greenwood and Abbeville. But.. I've been known to get into Pickens, Oconee, Newberry and Spartanburg and.. Even further if I get a good story out of it.

Anyone is totally free to use my photos for non-commercial purposes without asking. So, you want to use it in your family tree.. Please do, so long as you're not selling it.

Please don't take my photos and put them on other memorials. If you create a memorial for a spouse, don't use my photo on that memorial, put a request in for a new photo to be taken so that we can have an up-to-date photo, hopefully with a date of death. Don't have a problem with my photos being used, just would rather have an up-to-date photo.

If you need a photo retaken, please let me know. At times shadows from flowers or other items are in the frame or I have to take at a certain angle to prevent MY shadow from being in frame. Sometimes a photo just doesn't turn out and I don't notice it. Since all my photos are GPS tagged, it's pretty easy to go back and retake a photo quickly.

Please note that if I encounter a marker that doesn't match the memorial, I will submit an edit. If you know better.. Feel free to decline. However.. Just so you know.. I WILL send a message asking you to note the discrepancy in the bio.. So.. If you get ahead of the game and add it.. I won't have to do that. Markers are wrong at times.. The Gubb'ment is wrong at times. I usually go with the '2 out of 3 rule'.. If I can find 2 that match out of 3 pieces of info.. That's what I figured is right.
